Can anyone offer me advice on if and how I can disconnect my non-functional CD changer? I'm thinking it is the source of the mysterious draining of my battery.

Also, since the last jumpstart my radio screen says "error" instead of "code." There's a CD still in the single CD player of the radio. Can anyone advise me on how I can get that CD out of the radio or reset the radio so that the CD pops out and gives me the option of entering the code? Thanks

Assuming your model is non-navigation and your dash looks like this

You carefully pry the trim around radio, disconnect a pair of connectors from the trim.
Then remove 4 screws holding the radio, and pull it out. In the back of the radio, the smaller of the upper two (blue) connectors is for the CD changer. Take it out.

Reposition the radio (do not reattach yet), turn car on, see if error cleared. See if you can eject the CD. If not, some disassembly of the radio may be required.
