Could anyone advise simple methods to remove the blanks? Can I simply pry the blank covers? I tried with plastic trim tools, but these covers wouldn't budge. I also try to push from behind. That didn't work either.

Watched few Youtube videos on lower trim removal......I'm scared to mess up ><

Pretty sure you have to release them from behind. There should be a tab at the top and the bottom.

You can follow step 6 in the attached instructions for the sill plate to remove the lower dashboard cover.

Good luck.
Whoa, it worked! Thanks, Glen! Just did what you said. I was able to reach the upper tab on the inner most cover. It popped right out. Thanks a bunch!! I'm using this extra spot to install a mute button for my radar detector.

Glad it worked. Also, the panels come off pretty easily and its been a very long time since I damaged one. If you are careful and take your time, you should be able to remove the different covers without damaging anything.

Hey, that’s an awesome idea about the radar detector. What kind do you have? Could you post the finished installation? I’d definitely like to do this with my detector!

I used a Uniden hardwire kit. It can be flash mounted if you trim the dash slightly.

Wow that looks like a very sleek and clean install. Damn, yea I got an Escort detector... definitely will have to improvise a bit to get a clean install like yours.

Thank you :D I think Escort has hardwire kit too. I wasn't planning on concealing the wires, but my Uniden came with the kit and I was too bored. hahaha...
