Gotta get a little creative when adding a BATC to the 9 speed tranny. I would think cutting the rubber tube section of ATF Hose A and ATF Hose B and simply clamping in two straight 3/8" hose barb fittings would allow for the installation of an aftermarket BATC with hose barb nipples. A little more creativity will be required to hang/mount the BATC itself.

This is the best solution.
Just cut the hoses.

Ok so now it seems there really are no ATF Cooler kits available. I have called, emailed or chatted with Bernardi, College Hills, Honda Parts connection, Honda Auto Parts Warehouse. OEM Partsource.com, Majestic Honda parts and BK Honda parts and the kit part # 06255-5EZ-316 is on a nationwide backorder just like the Hands Free Adapter for the tailgate according to all of them. The only thing that I could find in stock was the replacement cooler 25500-5NC-013, but I need the kit. I think my only option now is aftermarket. I can't seem to find any aftermarket coolers for the 9 speed. I have a local mechanic shop that said they would install a cooler if I brought one to them. I read the discussion above about splicing and Rocky's comment about a good shop being able to handle plumbing and connections, but I have no idea which cooler would be a good one to buy. Can't seem to find recommendations for the 9 speed other than the OEM, which I would buy if available. Anyone willing to make a recommendation? All of the coolers at etrailer say for the 6 speed only. Thanks.
Any cooler itself for a 9 or 6-speed is ok. It's how to route the lines and make the connections. IMO, Getting around the radiator should have some 3/8 barbed sweeping 90s. Cutting the existing hose and using 3/8 hose barbs to connect the new lines isn't that big a deal. Make sure the hose is 3/8 for transmission fluid or power steering fluid. Hose used should not be for high pressure hydraulic lines. These look the same but the inner diameter is to small.
