Thank you to EVERYONE on this board. Your posts have been very informative and they have helped me to negotiate an excellent price on a new White Honda Pilot in the Bay Area in California.
The dealer that I am in negotiations with tells me that white Pilots are the least popular color and therefore the most difficult to come by. We have finally agreed on a price of $31,390 for our EXL-RES. He tells me there are none that he can find anywhere in California and that if I order it it will take 3 months for delivery. My question is, has anyone ordered their Pilot directly from the dealer and did it actually take 3 months to get to you?
I'm looking forward to finally posting that 'my new Pilot is here'!!

We had to order ours and it is going to end up taking about 3 months from order date to delivery (if everything works out). I just spoke with the salesman today and our order has been processed and on schedule, whatever that means :8: I just take it that our build date of the first week of April is still on schedule.

I haven't heard anything about White being a hard color to get, only Havasu. Make sure you tell the dealer to keep checking the computer to see if another dealer gets one that they can trade for, that is what we asked and have been told they are doing on a daily basis, so I hope they are looking at least once a week! We are in no rush to get it though, we still have to sell our old car and we are not looking forward to starting payments again, but we really like the Pilot.

White Pilot

I got one but I didn't hear there was a problem. I had a White Odyssey and didn't like the color - for some reason the white pilot looks great. Most of the ones I see are the silver.

I know this was incredibly uninformative but what can I sayh:eek:

I tried to get a Black Pilot, but the wait was approx 3 months. I ended up getting a Silver one because it was already on it's way to my dealer.

I had sold my car already, so I needed something soon.

At first, I wasn't 100% sure about the silver, but now, even after a total of 4'+ of snow, the car still looks clean! I LOVE IT!!!

:D

Order time

We ordered both of ours the 2nd week of
december and had both of them delivered the 3rd week. Both are silver EX's. We were told it could take as long as 1-3 mo. but I guess we lucked out. Also all the dealers were trying to dump inventory b4 the end of the year. I have not seen many white ones, mostly silver and black around here. We looked at the blue and wanted to barf :16: Really didn't like that color for a vechile. Good luck on getting your white Pilot. Your gonna love it!!

Hey Kemosabe, I can't see the White Pilot in the picture. That is good camouflage.

Perhaps demand for White and others with the green interior is down slightly because it looks a little odd in bright sunlight. We wanted white or sage but did not like the interior color so we opted for RRP. Silver is too popular, black is too hot.

Green interior? The Fern interior is actually light gray. No green.

Look closely in direct sunlight and you will notice a very distinct greenish tint, much different from the grey in my RRP. This may only appear to be noticeable in models equipped with cloth interior.

My dealer ordered grey interior pieces for my fern cloth interior, Id say it looks closer to grey as well, in any lighting only very close inspection shows the slight tint of green in it

OH - OK! I've never seen the Fern Cloth color.
The leather is definitely gray. Thanks for the info! ;)

Back in mid Jan., I found a white EX-L w/RES on the lot and test drove it. I didn't buy it because we couldn't agree on the price. I asked for $1,500 off sticker but the dealer wouldn't budge with anything more than $1,000 off. So I left after 3 hours of bargaining and went to another dealer who happened to have another same one on the lot. Bargained again but no luck. Both dealers sweared I won't find that price anywhere. I told them I will prove it to them and sure I did. The following Saturday, I drove up to their lots with the same Pilot and the salesman didn't want to see me but the manager did. :D We didn't say much but I just told them "I told you so... " With the saving, the accessories look really goooood.

I asked my wife if we could go bargaining every week just for fun and she scolded at me for all the pressure experiences.

In the central Arkansas area, I've noticed the white Pilots are being sold more to "business types", myself included. The black ones seemed to be heavily accessorized with new wheels, lights, etc while the color versions seem to be more popular with the younger generation.

Being a 35 year old family man, my wife wanted the vehicle to look more prestigious than macho or outgoing. Luckily, she let me have my way with the car audio/tv/dvd/satellite radio and voice activated navigation :>
