Here's the response on a quote from Andersondirect.com - one of the larger honda dealers in the bay area:

"Due to the high demand, this SUV is in very limited supply. As a result Pilots are selling for above MSRP at most Bay Area dealerships.

Here is our current pricing for the 2003 Honda Pilot EX you requested:

MSRP: $29730
YOUR PRICE:
(INCLUDES DESTINATION CHARGES) $33230

Pricing INCLUDES DESTINATION CHARGES but does not include applicable taxes, license and registration fees. Because market pricing changes so rapidly, we can only guarantee this price through the close of business this Sunday."

Cheaper to drive to Merced and get one there...

Un-f***in believable. Agree with your remark about driving to Merced and getting one for MSRP. I got mine from there. My salesman was Dave Carmack. If anyone happens to go there, mention my name 'Vivek' (I might get some accessories - goodies for directing anyone over to him)
