Hate to ruin these nice new Pilot mats, so would like some easy-clean plastic mats...anyone know a source for Pilot-size floormats? Does anyone make clear ones (so you can see the nice Pilot lettering)? Need something pronto -- am using towels right now!

Thanks!

Diane, I'm with you. They sell "Pilot" rubber all-weather mats but I hate to bail on the existing "quite-handsome" ones (in fact, the replacement mat product info says to remove the original mats from the car). Guess I could put them in front of the easy-chair in the den :D.

Re: Re: Re: All-weather mats?

You get 3 pieces with this purchase, BTW. The driver and front passenger ones for up front and a 1-piece mat that goes across the floor in front of the second row of seats. As Diane mentioned, though, I hate the idea of replacing or covering up the existing ones. Seems like a "waste" of nice mats.

Re: Shipping extra...

That could be it. !

Could be that Tim doesn't charge for shipping and handling -- I see that 4hondaparts charges $10.99 for the mats' shipping. Bringing the total to more than Tim's...

Tim ==> Tim Poliniak from RayLaks Honda in NY. Many members from here and from our sister-site acuramdx.org have bought accessories for their vehicles at VERY reasonable prices. He is also a great source for reliable Honda/Acura information.

All Season Mats

Not sure about the Pilot mats (neither they, nor the Pilot is in yet), but the '02 CR-V alseasom mats can cover or replace the standard mats. I removed the standard ones and made a set from cheat dooor mat rug runner, then put the all season on top.
The reason is neither the standard or the all season cover the sides and a few other places where i find my foot touches and will eventually cause wear.
This way, I pull the door mat carpet, put the mats back in and have a car looking very new in 7 to 10 years when I go to sell.

I plan to do the same with the Pilot (on or shortly after the 28th) :)

Alright, MOMM, I may have a line on something. I put in an order today for their clear vinyl floor mats for the front. I'll let you know how things turn out.

Talked to the manufacturer. They just got the pattern today in fact! They say that their pattern is very close to OEM but they did a little more coverage in some places. So DM's pattern will cover all the OEM mats but may extend further in certain areas.

Sounds great!

Those clear vinyl floor mats sound like exactly what I'm looking for! I may just go ahead and order them, also -- but let me know when you get yours (in case I don't get around to it...)

BTW, where did you find that other post and referral? Sounds like another Pilot group I'd love to hear about...

Thanks for sharing the info!

Re: Sounds great!

Diane, the "post and referral" was a response from a company (AutoSeattle) that I emailed that resells the auto mats. The manufacturer for the mats is Design Mat(tm). I'm still not sure how good the quality/fit is going to be - be glad to give you (& 03, et al) feedback as soon as I receive them.......

Mat update

Hang in there, Tim is looking into coming on board.....and I'm betting at a better price.

Tim,

I'm not sure about the MDX's (et al), but for the Pilot we're getting very nice logo'd mats with the purchase. It seems a shame to cast them aside in place of all-weather mats, so the clear vinyl cover mats are an attempt to accomplish both goals.

Will do on the product feedback. If UPS tracking is right, I should get them today.

Take care....

I've actually been approached by these people several times to carry them....honestly I didn't think there was a great market for it when I saw them. But I've been wrong before! Let me know once you receive them if you think it's a quality product.

cheers,
Tim

Tim, it's too late for me (I've already put in an order to AutoSeattle), but it occurs to me that you can probably get this product, too. There is already some interest in more purchases.

Let me know if you can/will be stocking them and I'll direct these folks to you instead of AutoSeattle, either individually or in a GB.

Clear (Vinyl) Mat Review

My belated review of the IntroTech (aka, Design Mat) "custom" mats, which just arrived today. Not knowing the product, I just ordered mats for the front row.

I would give the driver's side mat a grade of "A." It is cut to match close to perfect, including a piece to cover the left-foot resting pad. The right side mat, however, was less of a success. It is cut a good 15-20% larger than the existing Pilot mat, and doesn't look "custom" at all. The only saving grace is that it all manages to fit into the foot-well area without spilling over to the sides. I would have to give a "C."

Your call on ordering. Clearly (ha, ha), it was worth it for the driver's side mat. Debatable for the passenger side.
