If you have a 2003-2008 then you just undo the 4 screws holding down the lid to the airbox, lift lid, take out old filter, replace with new one, tighten screws and you're set. I'm sure it's the same with the 2009 also.

thanks humanoid! Saw the screws but wasn't sure if I had to mess with anything else. I'll give it a try later.

IIRC, magnetic screwdriver helps. I believe the screws are not captive, but I might be remembering right.

For sure use a socket and extention. Mine were on real tight. Also lube them so they don't stick next time. They seem to attract lots of moisture there.

Why do gung ho about OEM? Most aftermarket air filters that aren't K & N are just as good.

Anyway, if you want OEM, try our forum sponsor.

can someone post some pics :)
I haven't seen anyone post any close up photos of the air filter housing. Here's a photo of the engine bay. I drew a box around the air filter's location. Just pop open the hood and take a close look at that spot, and you should see the four screws there.

Where do i find/order replacement screws #15 on diagram. Can't quite pinpoint their name... they had philips slot as well as hex head and took 10mm socket. Two of them were rusty and snapped. They are holding the air filter cover. Thank you.

On a side note, there are so many things on Amazon these days that have been "Currently Unavailable" for months and months now. Thought it was just a Rockauto AT-205 thing :), but it seems to be a more widespread phenomenon. I realize the pandemic has wreaked havoc on supply chains, but the more it persists, the more I'm beginning to think this is a harbinger of more long term or permanent structural problems to come.

Whither Western civilization?

With a shortage of AT-205, may have to do the cam thrust cover gasket replacement after all. Yes? 👨‍🔧
