2007 Honda Pilot. At idle A/C is blowing warm air but works fine at speed. I checked and the condenser fan is running when this happens. I bought some R134a refrigerant with the gauge attached. When hooked up to my Low pressure valve it says coolant level is fine. I looked at my compressor at idle and it was not spinning. I pressed on the gas to bring RPM's up and could hear and feel the compressor kick on and the A/C started blowing cold air again. I quickly checked the compressor and it was spinning. It then promptly stopped, went and felt the air and it was warm again. This sounds to me like a refrigerant issue and it may actually be low and the POS gauge that comes with the R134a may not be acurate, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

If the refrigerant level is good it could be a weak magnetic clutch. It is rare and I have only personally seen it one time. Maybe check battery voltage with it running to make sure that the charging voltage is where it should be.
