Click the link below for your convenience. I'm excited that they added a stronger engine option and like the looks. The air suspension is intriguing.

I've still had trouble finding much information on the J30C engine. I know it's DOHC, but can't for the life of me find out if it's using chains or belts for timing.

Damn looks nice.

I wonder if that motor will make it over to the Pilot. Would definitely be a reason to upgrade.

Timing Belt.

Savage geese has a decent video on it around the 12 minute mark.

I doubt it but that would be pretty awesome. Throw a bone to those of us who are probably stuck driving 3 throw crossovers and would like to have a little performance.

Thanks!

And disappointed they went through the effort of redesigning for DOHC but not timing chains.

Even worse is how proud they are about getting VCM enabled on it. Ugh. I don’t mind a belt honestly. With as many cars that have chain issues these days I point to the belt and go “well at least they planned for this to get replaced meaning it’s probably somewhat accessible without engine removal“. Soooo.... I’ll take a belt, but cylinder deactivation - Agrghhhhhh!

I assume Hondata will have a full tuner for this particular engine that will hopefully allow VCM to be disabled without any trickery like we use now.

Assuming the EPA doesn’t sue Hondata out of existence… ugh.

Truly sad times for those of us that care about these things... but for 98% of the buying public they won't notice.

I thought the EPA has gone after some of the VCMuzzler type of companies too at one point.
