I just signed a deal and gave a deposit on a 2019 AWD Pilot Touring 7 passenger, honda sensing, advanced navi and RES, perforated heated 2nd-Row captain's chairs, gray and black.

MSRP $45,715 including destination

-41,895 price paid + fees below
- 1,129.98 PA taxes
- 299 doc fee
- 250 license fee
- 6 transfer fee
- 5 encumbrance fee (whatever that is)
- 14.15 online dealer fee
- 81 online registration
- 5 temp tag fee

$43,684.98 OTD

No dealer accessories installed, they wanted to charge 289 for key replacement option and I declined that.

I traded a 18 accord sport 2.0T 6 speed and I took a hit of $1,800. I knew I wasn’t gonna keep that car for long so I figured is better to trade it now instead of making payments on a car I knew I wasn’t gonna keep.

Dealer - ask for Robin Hines a very nice lady

Thanks for the info!

Only 1 dealer near me has any 2019s on the lot...but they are all higher trim levels and/or AWD. Maybe the first ones being built are mostly configured this way. I'm just looking for an EX-L FWD.

As much as I would like to find one on my own, I guess I will have to reach out to a dealer. I'm not finding anything using the usual on-line tools.

I have the following offer on the table for a 2019 Pilot Touring AWD 8 passenger (MSRP of $45,415). Negotiated based on what user ldudiaz paid.

Price: $41,595
+ $2,495.70 (PA tax, 6%)
+ $309 (doc fees and tags)

OTD: $44,400

It was a little too easy to get dealer to agree to this price. Thinking I could do better??

#17 ·
You should be able to get a price of $40,422 (plus TTL.. those doc fees are suspect and you should be able to take a few hundred off that as well) at the bottom end. Just shop that price around all the dealers in your area and then be a little patient. You will quickly find out where their bottom is. But we are at a disadvantage right now since there is not much stock. We are waiting until there is inventory on the lots to get the best deal on our 2019 Elite.

Here's the deal I'm getting. I used TRUEcar as a PenFed member.

2019 Honda Pilot Elite AWD (Lunar Silver)
List price $49,440

Selling price $45,869.00
Hitch w/ receiver 595.00
Wire Harness 495.00
Transmission Cooler 595.00
Dealer fee 599.00
Appearance pkg 139.00
Nitrogen 98.00
Electronic title fee 88.00
Trade Value $21,000.00
Trade Payoff $4297.99
7% TAVT 2032.10
Tag fee 25.00
Title fee 18.00
Lemon Law 3.00

Total drive out price $35,406.69

You should be able to get the Elite for $45,000 before taxes etc. Especially if you wait until a few more 2019 arrive on lots. Now is not the time to buy a 2019.
The $98 nitrogen fee to fill your tires is another gimmick to make money by the dealers. Do some research on filling tires with nitrogen, it's not worth the effort. Are you only going to fill your tires at the dealer with super duper nitrogen when your tires need air :)
I think you may be getting ripped off regarding the "Transmission cooler", "hitch with receiver" and the "wire harness". As far as I am aware you can't order the Pilot with a transmission cooler. A wiring harness for towing should cost about $30! A hitch for the Honda Pilot costs $141 online. Unless you must have this Pilot right now, I would suggest doing some serious negotiating and be able to walk away from the "deal". It's not a great deal. The dealer is making huge profits off all the add ons.

Touring AWD

Just took delivery of a 2019 Pilot Touring AWD 8 passenger Modern Steel/Black Leather this afternoon.

MSRP: $45,415
Sale Price: $41,586
+ $1,230 Honda Care 8 year/100k mileage/$0 Deductible (I wanted this, not "pushed" on me. Dealer matched Hyannis Honda)
+ $250 (doc fee)
+ $2906.96 (OH tax at 6.75%)
+ $15 (title fee)
+ $18.50 (registration fee)

OTD: $46006.46

Dealer also threw in a free rear bumper applique and splash guards. I think these need to be included on all Pilot's from the factory. Bumper had a tiny tiny nick right off the truck, which was covered by the rear bumper applique and I was being a pest. Did not want the whole bumper replaced.

How did I do?

$1,230 for an extended warranty was a mistake if you ask Consumer Reports. They say a majority of consumers that purchase one are not likely to encounter repairs totaling the cost of the warranty, if any at all.

I hate the hard sell dealers put on these. They make you feel like you’re making a big mistake by telling you how much some random part of the car costs to replace and reminding you of how the warranty will pay for itself if that part breaks.

I think the finance office is becoming the worst part about buying a new car

You got a great deal on the car though! I would’ve pulled the trigger at that price (minus the warranty)

Good luck with your new car!

Just agreed to terms on 2019 Pilot Touring AWD 7 passenger Modern Steel/Black Leather this afternoon in New Hampshire.

MSRP: $45,415
Sale Price: $41,174
+ $369 Admin Fee's.
+ $89 Wheel Locks

OTD: $41,659

Dealer is also throwing in All weather mats for free.

I fought hard on my trade in and got them to give me almost $1k more on my trade than it should reasonably be worth, so they were willing to let me walk over discounting the admin fee and the wheel locks this early in month and the model!

No sales tax in NH doesn't hurt the price btw :)

Not interested in making a sale?

I've reached out a few times to a couple of dealers in my area (I live in DFW, so we have a lot of Honda dealerships.) I'm inquiring about the 2019s that they advertise on their sites and either I a.) haven't gotten a response or b.) it's been very terse (I inquired about a really good deal on an Elite that they posted, but as it turns out, it was likely a "misprint" and I caught it.) I'm guessing dealers are more focused on getting rid of their large supply of 2018s? What else could be the deal? Oh well, it's looking like I'll wait and consider competitors while I wait.

Hmmm, just emailed the dealer I got a quote on a '18 EX-L AWD from Costco on for multiple quotes ('18 EX-L AWD, '19 EX-L AWD and '19 Touring 7 AWD) and they just sent one (special internet pricing, Costco pricing isn't available yet)

$45,715.00 (Seems $300 higher than above, actually the 7-pass is a $300 option)

Price Quote
$43,360.00 (5.15% off)

Note: Long Island, NY dealer

I would love to be able to get the 7-pass in the EX-L oh well....

2019 EX-L AWD quote...

MSRP
$40,655.00

Costco Price Quote
$38,744.00 (4.70% Off)

So much meh.

MSRP 40,655
sale 36,632 via price match
+ MA Tax
424 doc fee
135 title etc

$8k for trade in 2012 sonata ltd 40k (took a while to negotiate this).

Had multiple quotes from dealers in MA/NH which i took in and they matched the lowest. I took a little less than expected for my trade, but i am very happy with it overall. Hope this is a great vehicle for my family.

Man, trying to get a price out of some dealerships through online/email is so difficult....
First email: You didn't list your phone number, send it to us so we can talk over the phone.
Me: No thanks, I'd rather just keep it to email
Second email: Well, why don't we set up an appointment for you to come in and see the in-stock vehicles, etc..
Me: Probably would save us both time if I could just get your current/best prices on the vehicles I'm interested in.
Crickets...

One dealer was very quick (the one that gave me quotes). Wish they'd all be like that... No, I don't want to hear, "What can I do to get you in this vehicle today speech". Or, "I really shouldn't be doing this, but let me show you the TrueCar price, and we can probably do just as good or a couple of hundred better". It's 2018.

Another dealer finally got back to me:

2019 EX-L: 38422 + DMV, TTL
2019 Touring: 42586 + DMV, TTL

Wonder how long to get Costco pricing on the '19's

Sorry I got mine from PaulMiller Honda. I was surprise when I saw the quote since no one came near it. It could be a price mistake or something - I have no clue =) Not sure how you send out the inquiry, but this is what I did.
1. Check dealer inventory to see if they have the color/trim you want. If they don't have what you need, don't bother it will be waste of time.
2. Tell them you are in the market of getting the car year/trim/#pas, Finance/Lease, New addition/Trade, if possible provide Out the Door pricing. Btw, you don't have to Finance or Trade, but it give them incentive to make more $ for better pricing.
3. Don't worry about any options on the car. Eg. subtract them from the quote if they includes it. Once you are okay with base, you talk in person at dealership said you don't want any, and tell them to take it off. Most of the time, they will either take it off or give it to you for free. If they don't, walk. Tell them you are ready to close the deal - just make sure you are, when you want to ask for accessories, or items taken off.
4. Don't take Windows Etching, Optional warranty, and etc. You should only paying Doc Fee, DMV fee, Tax, and etc. Question them if something doesn't sound right.
5. Lastly the Sales is there to make a living, don't try to nickle and dime on everything - be reasonable.

Also try to email mid week, I believe this is more effective. Be polite even they don't give you quote, and followup if they don't reply. Some of these people is not that savvy because they are not really Sales, and their goal is get you in the dealership. Good Luck!

We paid $46300 + fees & taxes for our 2019 Elite at Autonation Honda in Roseville, CA. Could have purchased a 2018 model for about $4000 less, with the 0.9% financing, that would have been a smarter purchase, but we really liked the changes to the 2019. We will probably keep this car 8-10 years, so it was worth it to us. None of our local dealers would budge more than $500 on the 2019's.

The finance guy presented a whole list of options to consider, extended warranty, paint & interior protection, theft insurance, lo-jack, I think there were a couple more I can't recall, but it totaled over $6000. The HondaCare warranty (7/70 I think) was $2895 on it's own. I politely declined and told him I could get the max warranty for less than half what he was offering.

After looking at this thread and pinging through email, I would say low $40k (MSRP + Dest) would be primo prices for a '19 Touring 7-pass. Right now I not sure about buying in a different state (95 miles). Never done that before, is it awkward bringing in new vehicles into different dealers? Etc. Loaner cars, etc? (I'm assuming you wouldn't get those?)

Thank you to everyone who took the time to post their experiences, it is making my research much easier.

I am looking for a bit of advice. I am replacing our trusty 1997 Mazda MPV. It's rusty, the front windows need a push to get up, the rear right strut is shot, and there are bumps and nicks everywhere. However, after 240000 miles, the AC still blows cold, the engine runs fine. I'm hoping my future 19 Touring AWD will be just as dependable. Needless to say, I won't be trading it in.

I am in the market for a 2019 AWD Touring 8pg in White. I'm really attracted to the chrome-delete options for the new model. I am looking to get the front and rear gloss black bumper trim, black grill trim assembly, gloss black lower, and gloss black roof rails. Beyond those, I am looking at the hitch, running boards, side moulding, and much more.

I know I could easily be taken as a sucker for dealer installed options, but am I correct in assuming that these options are 100% negotiable? I am comparing what is on honda.com and the prices online and everything is roughly 30% cheaper online. Would I be able to bring these dealer installed options down 30% as well?

Here in Los Angeles, I'm not able to find what I am looking for at the moment. Either way, I'm looking to pay 40000 for the vehicle without options, or roughly 42000 with negotiated options (I calculated it to be about 42700 with the prices from honda.com). With CA tax and fees, I'm looking at 47000 out the door. Is this a viable option? Would I have to wait a bit longer, maybe November, to find this deal?
