2018 EX-L AWD w/Sensing
Exterior: White
Interior: Beige

MSRP inc delivery = $40,655
Dealer discount = $5,167
Price before fees and tax = $35,488
Tax = $3193
Registration and fees = $635
OTD total = $39316

Honda financing 0.9% 60 months

CA Bay Area. I think it's a fair deal as I did the direct purchase route. No surprises, everything was upfront. Car was already detailed and ready for walk-through when I arrived.

Almost identical quote for this weekend (within 500). On the peninsula??
I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger though... debating about waiting for the 19 EX so I can pick up the new dash/stereo and safety features... and wife prefers cloth..... HMMMMMMMMMM.
Problem is the 19 EX is more expensive than the beautiful 18 EXL

Hi, I found an AWD 2017 Ex-l with RES at 21,000 miles with running board, roof rack, door visor and roof visor for $34,000. Would you mind to let me know how much should I negotiate down to?
I also got a quote for 2018 EX AWD for $34k? Which one would you suggest? Thanks in advance.

Update back in June I was going to buy a Pilot and put a post on here about Honda having a clearance sale in July (which they weren't). I contacted the dealer and the sales person I have purchased several Hondas from since the 80's and they said July was going to be the best price, they were having a clearance sale. I called in July and he said, go through Costco for the best price. I told them not interested and he insisted numerous times this would be the best price. I relented and said what will that price be. His price was $500 over invoice. I told him no way, then after giving me his best price, he calls me back and says he can do $500 under invoice and I said no that is still too high. He said, he couldn't budge, checked with several other dealers and they about had a heart attack mentioning below invoice, so I went with plan B which was a Highlander and got that for 12% under invoice. So that's that, end of story.

I doubt that's the end of story! I thought about a highlander until I looked at the cramped third row and stereo from the 1980s. Still no carplay/android auto? That's like getting a PC with windows 95 lol

Considering I listen only to AM or public radio, folded the rear seats down as soon as i got it and never intend to use it, this will work for me. I could care less about radio, one speaker middle of the dash Circa 1964 is fine with me. As long as it starts and gets me from A to B reasonably well I am satisfied. The radio works better then the FM converter that I had in my 1963 Biscayne, so I am easily impressed. I don't have a smart phone and will never buy one, so it looks like you got what you needed as well as myself. End of story

No additional options, but one dealership farther from us was going to toss in front matching tint, rear 3-fold tray, wheel locks, and mud guards to get us to go there instead of our local dealer. Possible a regret, but local sounded great on our time budget and misc visits for any issues.

MSRP $48,445
Discount $5,928
Sale Price $42,517
Doc Fee $150
Tax $2,766.49
Title and other fees $203
Total $45,636.49
Down Payment -$7,500
Financed $38,136.49
Honda Financial .9% APR
Finance Charge over 60 months $878.51
Monthly payments $650.25

We used Carjojo (Thanks piloteers.org members for the suggestion) and had 3 dealerships bidding for our sale including one we visited in person the prior week who offered $51k and 2.3%APR without even trusting us that our credit scores were mid 800s. We said no. How about $43K and they came back w/ sorry we just can't meet our price. We said bye. Next week carjojo got them offering the farm.

2018 Honda Pilot LX AWD

MSRP 33775
Base Price inc. Dest.: 28239
Doc fee: 398
Tax 6.25%: 1789.81
Reg.: 170
OTD: 30596.81

Note:
1. base+Doc is about 5K under MSRP, or 15% less.
2. 2019 model with HS is nice, but some dealer charges MSRP for the base price. Plus TTL, 19 model could cost 5K more than 18 model now. We decide for 18 model as it seem has everything we need for a reliable and space family car.

Yes, on the peninsula :). I test drove both EX and EX-L before deciding on EX-L. Similar to your case; I wanted the 2018 Odyssey and wife prefers an SUV.

White/Black (the wife wanted white/beige but that was REALLY hard to find)
MSRP $48,465
price before TTL, $41,556
there was a $500 rebate that was applied after taxes
0.9% honda financing for 60 months
no dealer installed options
no extended warranty
no trade in
AutoNation Honda O'hare in Des Plaines Illinois
They applied slight pressure to do protection/warranty plans but I informed them that I want no part of it.
At first I thought that I would NEVER buy from Autonation, but in the end I had a Very good experience.

2018 Pilot (Elite) - $42,154

Doc / Registration fees: $491

Privilage tax (no sales tax in OR): $213.48

College Grad Rebate -$500

Total: $42,358 OTD

Took the 0.9% for 60 months paid a tad over 20% down.

Def shoot for ~15% below MSRP on outgoing 2018s.
