The 2023 Pilot moved that sensor, TPMS to the hub from inside the rim like on the 2016, so I can't use these rims and tires on my 23, or I would have kept them. These snows tires made the 16 Pilot a tank in the Winter. LOVED THEM... Let it snow.......................... I will make u a killer deal if you are interested bec Pilot people take care of fellow Honda People.. I am willing to meet you 1/2 way as well.. 8147460387--CELL, Mark

Thank you. I have to figure out if the factory Continentals I have on the car now will last through the rest of the summer or if I will have to replace them before winter. If I replace them before winter there is not much need for your additional tires which are winter only. If I can get through the summer with these than I could use yours until spring and then get replacement tires. I will take a close look at mine this weekend, they have 42000 miles on them now. I do have the 245X50X20 tire size on my 2019 Touring.

??? LS973800 - you would be looking to buy these just to get through the winter and then get new tires in spring anyway? If not planning on winter tires normally then just an All Weather tire might be better for you. Even the All weather tires have descriptions that at 6/32" you will experience reduced winter performance. With Blizzaks that is more apparent as the tube multi-cell is gone by then. I had some on a Sonata, great in winter until that 6/32" mark and then were worse than my all seasons. Just keep in mind for your future use/purchase of winter tires.

@GMarkG - do the rims you have fit on the '23 or is it a different bolt pattern/offset etc.? If it's just for the TPMS thing you could remove the sensors and replace with rubber valve stems. I'm totally for winter tires/rims and have 16 in my shed currently for the 4 cars (Father-in-law doesn't want on his). Does your '23 have a full size spare or is that just on Trailsport? If they fit and you do the valve stems you could put one as full size spare. Good price for rims/tires overall but only about 2/32" useable tread on the tires for winter

Are there any sensors in the '23 rims? does it show tire pressure on gauges? My '17 Accord has indirect with no wheel sensors, works fine for TPMS if one gets low (or overinflated) but you can't see actual. It senses wheel speed with ABS sensors and needs to be recalibrated (dash button push) if you rotate tires. Dealer did a balance and added 4-5 pounds. Sensor triggered a problem after a couple miles as it didn't match "calibrated" wheel speed. Let some air out and all was well.

I actually gave it some thought and decided I will just stick with the factory tires and then replace them with the same or perhaps the Michelin Cross Climate 2. I have read pretty good reviews on those and my son has a set of them on his Ford Escape. I live in one of the highest snow fall zones in Ohio (Chardon , Ohio and the shores of Lake Erie snow effect) and have had no problems with just all season tires. Of course being retired and deciding when I have to go out helps a lot also. I did come to the same conclusion that $1000.00 for extra wheels which I really don't need and the snow tires which I would only run for 3 or 4 months doesn't meet my needs.

I let my kid’s experience the difference of good all seasons and true winter tires on same vehicle on our road during a storm. The 30+ foot shorter stopping distance at less than 30mph was eye opening for them. Combined with start on a hill and turning. For me it is an investment in safety that is less than my deductible. I get 4 years or more from the winter tires and the rims last as long as I have the vehicle.

They don’t defy physics but performance difference is an experience. My wife’s Pilot had the Bridgestone Dueler when new. She almost wrecked it at about 3 days old because she couldn’t stop going down a hill slowly. Then she had issues going up the next one. Crying wanting to get rid of Pilot it was that bad. I bought good winter tires a day later but couldn’t find spare rims yet. Now she has no issues and feels confident. She also won’t ride in her friends cars in winter (or most times).

She had experienced that once before with 6 month old all season Continental on her Sequoia. Her snows were worn and cracking and money was tight. I figured I'd try the all seasons since they had full tread. She drove around the block, came home said it sucks. Parked it and took my Sonata on snows. I tried the Sequoia right after. Worst tires for winter grip I ever experienced she was correct. Every nanny control for start/stop/turn was going ballistic and that was at under 30mph and trying to get to it. Not a brand issue for me either. Her Pilot and both my kids cars are on Continental winter tires.

I currently have the 2018 18s... should I use the these 20s as summer tires and the 18s for winter? Hearing larger rims are actually worse in winters. Is that true? Thanks!

You list NYC as home. 18's would be better for you all around not just winter. All the potholes really suck around here especially in winter. The 18" gives extra sidewall to flex and absorb some impact before the rim does.

Depending on where, when you drive in winter I will normally recommend winter tires (with spare rims) but many don't want the extra initial expense and hassle of change over. I would not want to swap tires on one set of rims as it is $100+ in fall and $100+ in spring. That pays for spare rims and sensors quickly. Many also don't have a place to store them or the desire/ability to change them out like if they have a flat.

I like the look of 20" rims on the Pilots especially the black ones. You could get these, use as is for 1-2 winters and then put 3 season tires on them. You could also get these and replace the tires now, sell the used winter tires and get new winter ones for your 18's, then sell the old if still good. Lots of juggle and initial expense but long term outlook.
