I have a 2016 Pilot EXL.
I want to replace the radio head unit in order to have Car Play....
I have found a head unit from a 2017 Touring model.

My question is: Will the 2017 Touring head unit work in my 2016 EXL?

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

There is a possibility that it may have to be programmed by the dealer to work with your system as it came from a different Vin-numbered vehicle.

Yes, if you can get your hands on a radio from a 2017-2018 EX-L it will work. Trust me, I have 4 different radios at my house at the moment. You do not need a dealer, you just need your VIN and the serial number from the new radio. There is a mega thread on this topic with all the pertinent information.

Here's a link to the Honda website that will give you several radio codes. You need the VIN of the car that the radio came from as well as the serial number of the radio. When you punch in that info, you will get a dozen or so codes to try. Mine worked on the 8th code.

Good luck!

UPDATE: I should have noted that you should only enter the last 8 numbers of the VIN. If you try to enter the entire VIN, it will not work.
