Howdy fellow Piloteers,

I'm new here and this is my first post.

I'm looking to purchase a 2011 Honda Pilot EX-L with 215,000KMs on it.

Is it worth the buy at this mileage?

How's the reliability on these?

What problems should I look into/inspecr before purchasing?

Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated.

  1. I'd look under the vehicle and check for rust.
  2. Check the engine. Is the engine oil up to level and clean? Does it idle well? When was the timing belt water pump job done? Any oil leaking.
  3. Check Transmission. Is the fluid clean? Does it shift smoothly. Any vibrations?
  4. Check radiator. Is the coolant clean? (No creamy discoloration)
  5. Check steering. Is there any play in the steering wheel. Is the fluid clean. Does the fluid smell burnt. Any shaking while driving.
  6. Check brakes. Is the pedal firm, not going to far towards the floor? Does the pedal pulsate when braking? Any squealing or grinding sound? Clean fluid.
  7. Check CV axles. Inspect boots for cracks or tears. Is there any grease leaking?
  8. Check for alignment problems. Check tires for uneven wear. Does the vehicle pull in any direction when driving?
This is about all I can think of.
