If you are unsure for your particular application my suggestion is to reach out to the manufacturer you would like to use. Most of them (VCMuzzler, VCM Tuner, S-VCM, etc.) work on every version of the J series with VCM, you just have to order the correct one (connector type of length may be slightly different).
