I would also question and check the locksmith's work. Seems to me that's the big variable here.

You had also mentioned the engine doesn’t start. Does the starter try to crank the engine? Or do you just hear a click?
What is the voltage between the battery terminals with no keys in the Pilot’s ignition and all lights turned off?

I really hope when the OP figures this out, he replies back and lets us all know what the problem was. And the ultimate fix for this issue.

Would a dead battery in the key fob cause this to happen.
My first thought is it shouldn’t since the valet key doesn’t have a battery.

Can't see how it could. The fob only controls the locks (and horn in panic mode).

I'd say get a second locksmith to fix what the first locksmith did.
