Hello all,
I have a 2005 Honda Pilot with 174K miles on it. My wife drives it most of the time. Over the last couple of weeks she has reported that when she turns the key to start the vehicle the dash lights go off as expected but the car won't turn over. She hears a clicking noise. She tries it again (sometimes after waiting a few minutes) and eventually the car starts. Whenever I try it the car starts without a problem. I saw it happen to her twice in the garage but never managed to replicate this problem myself. The best answer I came up with is that she was not turning the key all of the way. That answer went over like a lead balloon.
I checked the obvious stuff. Battery is a newer battery (less than 1 year old) and connections are good. I pulled apart the steering column to see if there was any obvious issue with the ignition switch but didn't find anything.
Is there anything else I should check?
Thanks in advance!
Dave
