I’ve replaced my pilots transmission and the shop is telling me that it still isn’t completely fixed and needs to be taken to the dealership to have the ecu reprogrammed. I’ve had other cars that I had reprogrammed from a mail in software. They just did it remotely and the cost was quite a bit cheaper than the dealer. I don’t have a dealer close to me either. I’m just wondering if anyone has ever had something like this done with their Honda? Or if a more equipped transmission shop can actually do this type of thing.

I'd inquire there first.

Even if you eventually have to go to a dealer, a 2003 is a little old school, I suspect, compared to a Tesla that can be reprogrammed through Skynet. Maybe that's a good thing.

You might investigate if one of the Foxwell scan tools has the capability to program the ECU. The cost might be the same as taking it to the dealer, and then you’d be the proud owner of a Honda specific scan tool.
