Watch the video on the Headlight Armor link above. If you have faded lights (that should get buffed anyway) how clear tape will show if they will be better. Then how it looks just adding headlight film.

Maybe mine were not that clear anymore but just looked that way because of the film? I'll never know as car is gone.

The CRV ones were yellowing a bit so I pulled them off. I had to work to get the glue off after all the years. I did some sanding and buffing after. Still need to get new film to replace. The film looked a lot worse/discolored once it was off. Lights were still excellent but getting the glue off was a real PITA.

Not bad for quick easy polish after all the years and mileage. I put the Nineo H4 LED's in and perfect beam pattern with nice bright white light = happy daughter and father. Fogs are Morimoto XB yellow, and have clear headlight film from Weathertech.

I had to do a drivers side fog light replacement on my X5 a few months ago. The front bumper clip had to be dropped to get to it. Not as easy as the Pilot. It’d be nice to have a way to protect these from rock shots.

I would need to wait for my daughter get home next trip and try to measure what the thickness is on her fogs. That might not be until Thanksgiving.

I sent WeatherTech an email, reply was .2032mm (converted = 8 mil). The ones on the CRV were older but I'd swear more like 1-2mm (40-80mil). The same goes for what was on my Sonata and Sequoia. Headlight armor I think talks about that also that the older stuff used to be thicker but the current one they sell is the preferred. I'd say preferred for profit but some might complain that anything thicker is more noticeable. When you drive the pretty things you want protection but more discreet. I've always been more function over looks, within reason o_O :ROFLMAO:, especially if tucked into a bumper area.

I can say that the bulk sheet film that I had was thick and trying to get it to mold/shape on the glass of the small Hella DE fogs was quite a PITA.

Read here from CLEARMASK on the 2 thickness of LightGuard. Watch the video also.

Once you get the headlight covers buffed up, switch up the bulbs to LED. IT’S THE HEAT FROM THE BULBS THAT ALLOWS THE PREMATURE OXIDATION OF THE PLASTIC COVERS! I’m no scientist, but I’d had to buff my lamp covers for years with both my ‘01 Civic and ‘09 V. 2 years ago, switched over to LED and haven’t had to touch them since!
