I started having this rumble strip shaking between 40-50, its not the VCM, suspension or brakes. I believe it is the torque converter. From what I understand, the TQ cannot be replaced without replacing the entire tranny? It's at the shop now, but just preparing for the news that it needs a new tranny, which will probably run around $4500. Is it worth dumping that into an 09 with 165k, everything else works fine?

Consider: The Pilot is worth very little to nothing if it needs a Trans. It may be worth fixing since it runs good. There are not a lot of better choices on the market for $4k. You could try some lucas tranny fix, see if it helps the shaking, and just drive it until it goes. In the mean time do your homework and look for the best deal on a trans job.

We've had that issue before and another fluid change helped. Sometimes the dealer don't allow much time for the fluid to drain. There are threads on here about doing a thorough fluid change.
