Glad I found you all. Had The Transmission Service Error light come on in my Pilot with 57k miles. Because of seeing your posts, I was able to convince the dealer to replace the torque converter under warranty on my first trip to them. Hopefully that saved me a lot of headache. Best to all.

Hi everyone. I have an 03 with 235,000 miles. Recently it occasionally started downshifting violently. Most notablily if I let off the gas around 60mph the rpms shoot up and the car lurches hard. It feels like it missing a gear on the downshift. I changed the trans fluid and saw nothing unusual...

Poll: For those who have/had transmission rough/jerky shifting issues, did it get better over time, and if so, at about what mileage did it become acceptably smoother? This is in reference to the thread below: https://www.piloteers.org/threads/2023-skipping-1st-gear-not-shifting-smooth.180881/

Poll: For those who have rough/jerky shifting issues (especially at lower speeds), I'm curious where your transmission was built. This info can be found on the window sticker. This poll is in reference to the following thread. I couldn't figure out how to create a poll in that thread...

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have a 2005 Pilot and was curious to know how many Transmission Pressure Switches it would have. I've had a couple replaced but wasn't sure if I may need to replace the others at some point. Thanks for indulging me.

I've been having this problem for the past few years. Need some help understanding how the brakes/transmission/shifter/VSA/VTM system work together. Pilot shifts into drive and reverse. After releasing brake, Pilot will either not move or move in a restricted way Pressing on the brake pedal...

Hi all, We have a 2019 EX-L 2WD bought new in 18. currently sitting at about 72k miles as of this post (10/20/23). All maintenance has always been done by me. About a month ago (~70k miles), we were on vacation about 4 hours from home, driving to grocery store and noticed a hard shift at about...

I've got a 2003 Pilot with 345,000 miles on it. I've been on these forums long enough to know that we got pretty dang lucky with that one. Especially since we haven't had any transmission issues until the last 5k miles. First sign was that it was the "false neutral". Where it was in D but...

I had a really hard time finding out how the new pilot would perform with towing a heavy load up the hill and it lacks a dedicated transmission cooler that the 3rd generation had. I towed a 4500lb but up 2000 vertical feet. It’s around 6-8% grade for 20 min. The 2023 Honda pilot performed very...

I just bought a 2018 Honda Pilot EXL AWD with 58K. I noticed the RPM's pulsate about 200 RPM's under slight acceleration at different speeds. Usually when going up a small incline. It doesn't do it all the time. Thoughts? Thanks

My pilot has been serving me very well, ~205k miles. I took it on a drive across Washington State and about 4 hours in, while using cruise control, I lost power and my RPMs shot up to max out. I turned off cruise control and when I checked it out, there was transmission fluid all over the engine...

Hey everyone, I understand the drain and fill technique. I have searched lots of the posts about it. But one thing that I am unsure of - If you do 3 drain and fills. Do you need to purchase 10 quarts of the fluid? Or do you fill and drain into a clean reusable container? My 2013 has no...

My '06 Pilot is low on ATF and I want to top it off but am afraid of mixing different kinds of fluid. The fluid that's currently in there is Duramax Global Synthetic (the previous owner's doing) and no one seems to sell that product not in large, expensive quantities around me. Should I drain...

This is an intermittent issue that’s just recently started happening in the last two weeks or so about 4-5 times now. Start the car up and shift into gear and the car still won’t move. If it’s in reverse when this happened and I give it gas it feels like it is trying to go backwards but can’t...

Hey everyone I'm pretty new here. I purchased a new to me 2003 Honda pilot and I love this thing. My problem is that when I'm driving on the highway the transmission starts slipping around 55 to 60mph, to be specific I'll be driving and the RPMs will jump from about 3k to 5k and then slam back...

We have a Pilot EX-L 2017 that my wife drives it normally. As of now, it has 80k KM (50k miles). I bought used and transmission was jerky. Send to Honda dealer and they flushed the transmission oil and problem solved (about 1.5yr ago) This past month my wife starting complaining about a...

I bought this vehicle brand new just under 5 years ago and have 62,000 miles on it. In the past week, a "Transmission System Problem" flashed up on my dashboard twice. Both times, I was on the highway driving at 65mph plus and had been on the road for approximately 45 mins. No driveability...
