  1. 2004 broken driver's seat bracket - repairable or replace?

    2003-2008 Pilot
Thanks again for the replies everyone. I found out today that my oldest stepson has a friend that does welding so I think I'm going to have him try to fix the bracket for me and if that doesn't hold up I can always buy a new bracket or replacement at a later date.

The bolts and nuts should all be 16-ft.lb. This image shows all the torque specs:

Now...I also found that you can buy the entire frame assembly (with the power seat motors and wiring) which is part number 81660-S3V-A40 and runs over $1100 new. However, I found a used one for about $181 and am debating on trying that. I have no idea on how many miles the seat has on it but the...
  4. 2004 broken driver's seat bracket - repairable or replace?

    2003-2008 Pilot
Thank you all for your replies. I found that you can actually buy a replacement bracket (requires disassembling and reassembling the seat) for about $367 shipped. This would be a brand new, never-stressed bracket. The other option is, as many have stated, having it welded. Would welding it be as...

I was wondering that myself. I can't find an image of it beyond the drawing.

Turns out this is more common than I thought. I found a few complaints on CarComplaints.com all dealing with this exact same bracket. More info can be found here: https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Pilot/2004/accessories-interior/seat_support_bracket_failure.shtml I also reported my car's...
  8. 2004 broken driver's seat bracket - repairable or replace?

    2003-2008 Pilot
Greetings everyone. I have sort of an odd issue with my 2004 Pilot's driver's seat. The other day I got in it and heard a pop sound then immediately felt the seat shift backwards as if something had just broke. I took the side cover off to examine it and noticed that the actual mounting bracket...
  9. 2005 Coolant Leaking - Can't find Source

    2003-2008 Pilot
I have a 2004 and had a phantom coolant leak that turned out to be the coolant passage gasket. Here's more info: https://www.piloteers.org/threads/leaking-coolant-passage-gasket.27239/

Yeah, that's the tube. It was easy to install but just be sure to line everything up before you tighten it down and you should be fine. You can sort of feel when it's seated on the opposite side (where it connects to the water pump). I didn't have to remove the intake or any of that. You can do...
  11. Broken mount in driver seat?

    2003-2008 Pilot
This just happened on my 2004 Pilot. I haven't torn the seat apart yet to look at it but that's exactly what mine does. It leans back and to the right so something in the front left of my driver's seat is definitely broken. By "fabrication skills" what do you mean?
  12. Airbag light

    Problems
Is it possible you actually have something wrong with the SRS in your car? If it keeps tripping, there may be something wrong. I would take it to Honda if you have the ability. You certainly don't want the airbags deploying on you while you're driving down the road.
  13. Airbag light

    Problems
Have you scanned for any codes? Even if there is no engine light on, there can still be stored codes for the SRS (from what I have read). You may want to have the Honda dealership look at it, especially since they have an active recall on nearly all (or maybe all) Honda airbags. It was that...

Final Update (I hope): I drove the Pilot until it finally died on me today. Fortunately I had the new main relay with me to test it. I pulled off the road, unplugged the old main relay and plugged in the new one and it started right up. Unless I have any more issues, I would say I finally found...

Anyone know if this is close to accurate for the Pilot?
  17. I think it's the fuel pump...

    Problems
Okay, so after researching this for a while, I'm thinking it could be the Main Relay. Symptoms seem similar to that issue and it's under $70 to buy the relay so I think I'm going to try that. First, I'm going to attempt to test it if I can find any info on how. Will update if I find anything...

One final update, it died on me after a 3 mile round trip to the store.
  19. I think it's the fuel pump...

    Problems
So here's the latest: I've had the Pilot sitting for a week now in my driveway. I didn't try to start it at all during that time. Today, I went out and swapped the fuel pump 15A fuse with a spare in the engine bay. The fuse didn't appear to be bad but the terminals were slightly charred looking...

I will give that a shot. Thanks for the advice.
