  1. VCM disable - a new and better way

    2012-2015 Pilot
It is supplied with a ziploc bag for the spare resistors, and if you do like the instructions say and store them in the glove compartment, which I think you'd agree is the most logical place to store them, then I don't see why they would get lost. Do you also lose the key for your locking...

I normally let my product speak for itself, but I have to correct the misinformation provided in the last couple posts. 1. The items pictured are the exact same concept as what I'm selling, however the components used are not at all sealed and will fail over time in an engine compartment...

And the PCM also shuts off the ignition to the deactivated cylinders.

I'm pretty sure that there's a feedback to the PCM as to whether the rocker arms actually engage as they're supposed to when a signal is sent. Many people with that have had bad solenoids, get an error code when the PCM tries to activate them but nothing happens. I'm sure you'd get the same...

For those of you debating other products, I am not going to get into an involved discussion on it here, but I will just state a few things... microcontrollers require tapping into power someplace, it makes them harder to install for some people, I decided to keep it simple. Resistors take...

Yes, after looking at the diagram, you're right about the series and parallel for low and high speed. As far as the readings from ECT1 and ECT2 and when the fans are turned on, I know that the fans operate the same and the actual engine temp remains unchanged with or without the modification...

No, that's not correct. They are not switched in series. What you're missing is that the PCM interprets each signal independently and uses logic within the PCM to determine which fans to switch on, if any (it's not low and high speed, it's one fan or two or none, even though they use L and H...

There is another coolant sensor on your radiator. This is the one that normally triggers the fans to run since the temp is hotter at this sensor anyway. This and the thermostat in conjunction means that the actual operating temp is unchanged. This has been proven many times, even in hotter...

I won't comment on the other options as that wouldn't be proper of me, but the determination of whether you need to change resistance has much less to do with climate as it does with your individual vehicle's cooling system. For example, where I am, I probably have more extreme climate changes...
