I have a 2007 Honda Pilot. Recently I noticed that the warning beeper/sound for when the lights are left on and for when the key is left in the ignition are no longer working.

I looked to see if this was a fuse issue but did not see a fuse that would relate to these warnings.

Wanted to see if anyone knew what the answer to this problem was and if this was something I could fix on my own or if I should have the independent Honda mechanic we use fix it instead.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Hello All,

The AC is not working in my 2003 Pilot. The blower runs, but nothing comes out the front vents. Cool air is moving from the rear unit. I can hear the fan changing speeds as I increase the setting, but nothing from the vents. I selected each of the settings (e.g., defrost, bottom, etc.), but get nothing.

The door of the vehicle was left ajar all night with the key in and switched to postion 2, but everything worked fine after jump-starting and a 40 minute drive, but when we started back up we had the problem.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Hi!

I recently had a problem with my 2007 Honda Pilot EX 2WD. It is about the rear driver's side window. By pressing the switch i can make the window to lower down but when im trying to close it back, it won't work. What seems to be the problem?

Some are saying that the window regulator is bad. If that is the case, do anyone knew the part number of that part for my car model and if i will be replacing it myself, is there a manual available on replacing the regulator at the back of that door panel?

Thank you very much for the help.

My 2005 Pilot 4WD has been making a moaning noise while turning at slow speeds. At times, there is a slight judder as well. This started when I was on vacation back in mid June. I had just changed the VTM-4 fluid a couple days before I left. I noticed the problem a couple days into our vacation (I towed and launched a boat during this trip). When I got home, I bought a new gallon of VTM-4 and changed the fluid again. The moaning noise was still present, so I started doing more research.

I found a Honda bulletin about how water can get in through a vent tube. There is a procedure documented to do 8 figure 8s to see if the condition goes away. I did this and the condition did not. The procedure says to change again and re-test. I just changed my VTM-4 again from a new gallon, re-did the figure 8s, but the problem is still present. Now what?

The dealer was sure this would take care of it. He said they have never had one that two changes - or flushing as he called it - did not clear the problem up. I'm guessing that I might be looking at a significant repair. Is it possible to just disconnect the 4 wheel drive system and use my Pilot as a 2WD model?

I should note that I have done all maintenance myself. I changed the VTM-4 fluid at 17,300, 30,000, 64,000, 66,000 and now 69000 miles. I only used Honda VTM-4 fluid. I only tow my 1,800 lb boat once a year, about 700 miles. I have seldom towed anything else - trailer of mulch, lumber for a deck - maybe once a year.

Thanks!

I have a 2005 honda pilot @ 70500, recently the check engine turn on, and the VTM,VSA plus the idle went to 1500rpm. I first read some of the discussions here about such problems, so change my EGR without any thought. After the change, my MIL is still on, but the rpm went to normal 800rpm, so I disconect the battery and reconnect it, as soon as I started, the MIL went off. But after a 4 days, the check engine + VTM+VSA plus 1500rpm went on again, out of my desperation, I bought a OBDII scanner, and gave me a P2176.I disconnect the battery and put it back and went to normal again, I tried to erase the code, but it wont go away, so is there more to this code and are there more problems I need to solve or is it my IAC valve? need help, thanks!

Brake light out - third (middle). Help?

2007 EX-L.

The third brake light (in the middle, on the top of the hatch, mounted to the spoiler) does not illuminate when the pedal is pressed. How do I troubleshoot? I saw the round black cap on the inside of the hatch, removed it, and found a bolt underneath. Does that bolt hold the light into place?

Does anyone know where the connectors are for the middle brake light? I don't have a diagramme (or a clue...).

I'm assuming it's a bad contact somewhere since the reverse lamps work. It looks like the wiring loom that goes from the headliner to the hatch contains the third brake lamp wires, the reverse lamp wiring, and the rear wiper wiring. Does anyone know which wires are which based on colour?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks!

On my 2006 Pilot EX there's the main headlight on the bottom and the other headlight right on top of it (I'm not referring to the brights or turn signal lights. Both of the top lights (on left and right side) are not working. The service guy tried to replace them but they still didn't work and he said it might be an electrical problem. Why are there bottom and top headlights anyway and can I drive safely at night without the top ones on? (The bottom ones and the Brights as well as the fog lights work fine) Anyone have a 2006 pilot that can help out? Thanks

I bought my Pilot new in August 2009 and have driven it 24K miles. While changing the oil I noticed transmission fluid on the bottom of the casing. There was no sign of leaks from the drain plug. My local dealer performed a leak test and determined the front pump seal was the cause. They replaced it under warranty and now it is leaking again. Has anyone heard of this leak occurring on other 2009/2010 Pilots? I hope this can be resolved on my next trip to the dealer. The replacement seal began leaking two weeks after the repair. This no easy job and requires considerable labor to perform. To replace the seal the transmission has to be dropped, power steering fluid drained and the front end re-aligned after re-installing the transmission and lower frame members.

I was driving my '03 Pilot a little while ago and heard a loud bang from the rear. When I got under the car I found that the left rear stabilizer link had completely come off of the knuckle where it attaches to the stabilizer bar so that it's just flopping around back there. Called the dealer and they say it's okay to drive with it like this for the time being, and they quoted $196 to replace both stabilizer links.

Has anyone done this job? It looks like the link just bolts on at the bottom, but I'm not sure how the connection is made at the top, to the stabilizer bar. Is this something I could squeeze together myself or does it take special equipment?

I believe the links are just about $20 each, so I could save about $150 by doing it myself.

Hi,
I have a 2006 Pilot EX-L Navi with 77Km. Recently noticed a knock or clunk from front end when braking (more noticeable on a hard brake). Had it in to dealer and the replaced the stab links and bushings under ext warranty. Initially seemed to help but now seems to be worse. They re-checked and said that the struts could be replaced (but they indicated that they weren't really that bad). Since the struts and labor is about $1000 (300 each for the struts and 300 labor + 85 alignment) that is a lot to pay (not covered by warranty) and what if that isn't the problem? Anybody else have a similar issue? They said they checked everything else - but who knows for sure?
Tie rods? Engine mounts? ball joints?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thx!!

I just bought a used 07 pilot EX-L. Had 102,000 km on it. I never thought of testing the air conditioner before leaving the dealer (which was yesterday). So I drove it to work today and on the way back home, it was hot. So I turned on the AC. I was like wow. I still feel hot. I tried with the AC off. The temperature coming out of the vents was the same as with AC on. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I have the temp all the way to the left to "LO" I'm pressing AC to put "AC ON" and then changing to mode to blow at the face. Shouldn't I feel colder?

cruise control not working suddenly.

I had the brake light switch replaced a few weeks ago because the gear was stuck in park. Sometime after this the cruise stopped working, but I can't really say it was immediately after because I didn't notice. I had the mechanic who replaced the switch check it again to make sure the wires were hooked up and he said it was.

The cruise light does not come on within the pushbutton switch nor does the cruise control engage with the wheel controls. The horn does work and I checked fuse 6.
Thanks!

Hi there, newbie here, I also posted this question in the model year forum and I apologize the repeat but trying to get some exposure to this question if possible.. Thanks for your patience with a Honda Newbie..

- hoping to get some buying advice on a Pilot. We're in need of an SUV, something decent on fuel and loads of room. Require AWD for those Canadian winters..
Came across a 2006 with 90k miles (150k km). We're in Canada and this is an American vehicle so the odo/speedo is in miles.

Anyway, my wife swears by Honda although this would be our first one.. since we've had nothing but issues with cars in the past from Saab (GM), Ford, etc... What can we expect in terms of a Pilot with these many miles? Are Hondas as bulletproof-reliable as everyone claims? We don't want a Toyota Highlander but it's made the short list, along with a Mitsu Outlander and 2007+ Santa Fe (although I don't trust Hyundai just yet either)

I know this will be a loaded (biased) question in a Honda Pilot forum, but help convince me? Anything to watch out for in the 2006 year?

Thanks,
n00b
