How long 'til I get my plates? - Honda Pilot

Well, it's been 7 weeks now - just wondering how long it took everyone else to get their license plates.

Normally, it should not take longer than 30 days. Then again that is only in Florida......

A lot of dealers in Virginia are wired directly to DMV, so you can take delivery with new plates instead of temp tags. Mine was just a tag transfer from the trade-in. Even ordering a new personalized tag, I received it in about two weeks.

California just has to be different

The last time I bought a new car (11/88), it was an average of 60 days, although I rec'd mine in less than that (IIRC). I assume it's the same, but I couldn't find anything that outright stated it (haven't looked all that hard, though).

I think 6-8 weeks is the story you'll get from the dealer. I think I got mine in around 6 weeks.

Mine took 9 Weeks to arrive!!

Thanks guys - that gives me an idea of when to expect it (sounds like it's still "60 days"). I'll wait another week or so before calling the DMV.

i think it was about 10+ weeks for us. (2-3 months)

Well I went to work yesterday and stopped by the boys working on the tags. I told them to hurry it up in there since my buddyies were waiting for their tag

Needless to say they weren't happy, but if they want to eat they will hurry up.

Okay, 9 weeks and counting so I called DMV on Wednesday.

They said that the dealer has 90 days to send in the paperwork and once DMV gets the paperwork it's another 4-6 weeks before the plates go out.

They got my paperwork 12/9 (about 7 weeks after I bought it), so I should get my plates next month sometime.
