Default 2012 Pilot - Grey Interior - Blue Jean Stains

Hello Everyone,

I have a 2012 Pilot EX-L with the light Grey Interior.

I have 2400 KMS and I am starting to notice blue dye on both bolster's driver and passenger side seat. Anyone know how to remove the stains from the leather without damaging the leather?

I had the same color interior on my Lexus and never had my jeans leave blue dye on the seats.

I have a rear seat cover thank fully, and I guess I will have to get something to cover the fronts too now...

I have the same issue and wished we got black seats to not see it as easy. If you find good covers or a product, please let me know. We used this product but the blue is back from use.

Default 2012 Pilot - Gray Interior - Blue Jean Stains

Simple solution is to get yourself some grey pants :-). Anyway, I have the same issue.

I have a 2012 EX-L Pilot with Grey interior as well. I am a furniture sales rep and sell high end leather. What you are experiencing is called dye transfer, it is completely normal. Great thing about leather, it is easy to clean!

The best way to clean it is to use a 100% white cotton cloth (or a white cotton t-shirt) and water. It will clean right up.

Also, there are many leather cleaning products on the market at auto stores that will work as well. I just prefer the water and cotton cloth method.

I have been using the honda cleaner. It gets the blue off the leather seating surface fine but doesn't work well on the vinyl side. I need to try some vinyl cleaner on the sides.

I have used the Zano products to condition and clean these dye transfers off my seats. They work great. You can order it online.

I'm with Oregon. Lexol cleaner and conditioner package is what I use to keep them clean. I should of opted for the black but ended up with the grey interior for my 2012.

We use Lexol cleaner and conditioner on the leather seats on our '95 Volvo Turbo and have been very happy with the products. The seats look very good and have no splits or holes in them and the leather is still supple.

The seats are black and we've never noticed any color transfer on them. When I drove the car every day, for several years, I wore jeans to work (AT&T Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies didn't have a dress code.).

I have the tan leather interior which shows the blue jeans stains even more than the gray. I have used plain water to clean them several times followed by a good leather conditioner. For really stubborn stains I use a capful of Woolite in a gallon of water.
