I currently own a 2005 EX with 100K = 2012 EX-L with 9k

They are both good but given the choice of purchasing one new again, It would be a really tough decision .Other than routine maintenance the 05 has had exactly ZERO mechanical issues.... and gets better mileage than the 12.
The 12 is a little quieter, a little more comfortable but the interior seems a little 'cheaper'. The VCM / ECO is also garbage... especially in cold weather.

Default 2012 - EX-L and loving it....

We love ours.

Purchased 2012 EX-L 9 months/11,000 miles ago:
So far i could not be any happier with it. 0 Complaints.
Comfortable for the entire family and/or ski trip passengers.
its only been to the shop for routine maint. so far (oil change)

I have added Blizzak Snow tires and a Yakima Rocketbox 16 for skis.
Without the rockbox i was getting 24 on the highway, with the rocketbox i get 22 hwy. Still acceptable for the type of vehicle it is in my book while making it an ideal all around vehicle.

Simply wonderful on road trips and as a daily driver.

We've had our 2012 Touring 4WD a little over a year now, and about 12k miles. We love it. It isn't perfect - there are a few frustrations (head rest angle, non-flat cargo area), but nothing real bad. The shudder issue, I think I can feel what people are talking about, but it is very faint and very infrequent for us. Overall great car, in my opinion - and this is my first Honda.

You get a real serious sample size problem in an environment like this. Complaints will tend to come out in far larger percentages here, because when people go looking for solutions to problems and find this site... well, they had a problem to begin with! If you look at similar sites for other vehicles, you will see plenty of complaints there too.

I have the 2012 EX 4WD with 20K on it. I'm very happy with the truck except for the VCM "rumble" many others have. When it was brand new I had the rumble, but thought it was an uneven road surface. The last few thousand miles it has been a little worse, but not to the point that it ruins my liking for the truck. I'm going to take in to the dealer to see if they can doing anything, and to get on record that I have the issue. Still would re-buy it without hesitation.

2012 ex-l with about 4,700 miles on it and i love it. (bought a new pilot in 06 and had it until that got wrecked last year) i do have 2 things that bug me though:
1.) beige leather seats get dirty very easily
2.) real world gas mileage isn't up to par with other suv's in it's class

im sure honda is getting ready for an all new 2014 pilot with upgraded engine and transmission.

I have a 2011 EX-L with about 38K on it. I drive quite a bit for work and I really do enjoy my time behind the wheel. Initially, i was looking at more of an off-roader. I have been a Toyota guy for awhile and was really focused on the 4Runners but within a mile of my Pilot test drive, I was in love! I have a few complaints, but nothing major and really nothing more than any other cars I have owned.

Thumbs up

I am very happy with my 2012 Touring. No issues with anything you have mentioned. Currently at 17,000 plus miles.

223 miles with 17.1galons, which estimates about 13 MPG?? Horrendous MPG on my 2013 EX 4WD. Even with 90% city driving that i do should be better than 17MPG according to Honda. Other than that, great truck ...

Something is definitely wrong there. We're getting 22 with mixed city/highway miles.

This vehicle has no constraints
My wife has no complaints
With an exceptional 4wd system
My wife has yet to mention anything about VCM symptoms

The Pilot feels smooth and very secure
Buy any other SUV and they will be sick with no cure

We wax our Pilot regularly especially after long trips
After three months we have yet to find any chips

The kids and I believe the seats to be comfortable
So if you are one of those unhappy Pilot owners
Go buy another SUV less reliable with a different label!

Other manufactures don’t comprehend Honda success
The reliability and low maintenance relieves my stress

Without hesitation the Pilot is highly recommended
So to date in my opinion Honda Pilot is splendid!!!!

Granted many people only post when they are unhappy but are there any happy Pilot owners here? Reading all these posts is giving me serious concern.

Thanks
im still in love a year later. and i still love my traded in '09. i wonder how it is doing?
