Question,
on my 2013 EX, when ever I stream music via Bluetooth, the display only shows that ugly Bluetooth screen with the text to go to the HFL website. Is there a way to get the music info to show as it does when connected via USB? like the honda CRV does? Thanks. |

Depends on application used. Coming from a Droid, Pandora does not show info. But Google Music shows everything. Also, regular Music app for playing music on the device also shows info. What device/app do you use?

I tried with an iPhone4s, Iphone5 and WP8 Phone, several apps like Pandora, Iheartradio, SiriusXM, Stock Player, Slayer Radio, etc. all I get is the Bluetooth Screen, no info at all. Now via USB all of them show the info.

This bluetooth feature works when using my Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S III) but it does not work on my wife's iPhone 4S nor my iPad 3rd generation using any music apps including the default one. With the Android, the display shows artist, album and song name, and the next/previous song control on the steering wheel works. But as scorrpio said, it does depend on the app. It needs to be designed to send the info in the bluetooth data stream. I know from personal experience that PowerAmp, Google Music and the default music app will send the info properly.
For the Apple users, I just did a search and there are several discussions indicating this seems to be a known issue with varying head units across various car makes. On the apple.com discussion board there's a 700+ post discussion ongoing here among the many I found. Many people seem to think it's an iOS 6 issue, but there's no consensus.

Ok, so after reading that post at Apple, it seems that it is something that Honda should be able to fix with a software/firmware update to the HU, is there any history of Honda releasing software updates to their HU's?
Thanks |
