Default DRL LED & 35% Taillight film pics

Easy install of DRL LED w/ resistor Plug-N-Play and somewhat not very easy install of taillight tint film.

Bought Switchback Relay (EP35), this weekend will take out panel behind ebrake and find that sucker, don't want to install resistors by tapping into wires.
Also next is to get platipaint from homedepot and black out the grill and back chrome.

So no more brights when you install those led bulbs in the DRL?

I want to tint my lights but wish there was a lighter tint so they didn't look too black. And definitely don't want to paint them.

I think you mean Plasti-Dip, unless you are talking about a different product.

Does the DRL LED also function effectively as high beam at night?

My guess would be no but i had the same question. If it does they must be real expensive!

I am interested in the LED product used (Brand and link to where you bought them) and also curious about how the High beams function?

I'm not sure what the OP used, but I have used VLED product before and haven't had any issues with them. While I haven't done this mod yet to my Pilot, I have done this for my 4G TL and it should be almost the same install and result seeing how both cars use the same bulb type.

Here is the link to the VLED page that has the 9005 type LED bulbs.

Specifically, I purchased the 5K WHITE 6 LED DRL/FOG LIGHT BULBS HB3 9005 H10 9145 | 1 PAIR B/O. I went with this bulb even though it is more expensive because it supposedly puts out a brighter output with the 6 CREE chips on the bulb compared to the SMD type bulb.

I couldn't find a harness or decoder kit from VLED that I felt comfortable using, so I went with the decoder kit from iJdmtoy. You'll want to select the R2 option when ordering. This kit has the resistors included and I mounted my resistors to the frame and used safety wire to secure it as they will get extremely hot when in use.

As far as your question about the high beam, your high beam will still work but it will not be as bright as what you get with Halogens. I'd estimate that the actual result on my TL is 60-70% of what I had with halogens. Depending on where you live, this may be an issue if you use your high beams alot. For me, I live in SoCal and rarely use my high beams so the loss of high beam brightness isn't much of an issue for me.

I might have to check this out but worried in any case I need the brights. Some crazy drivers around here that need some friendly reminding that they just cut me off.

The DRL where purchased at
Classy Autos 9005 White LED bulbs w/ Decoder for High Beam / Daytime Running Lights : Amazon.com : Automotive Classy Autos 9005 White LED bulbs w/ Decoder for High Beam / Daytime Running Lights : Amazon.com : Automotive
at time of purchase they where $38 w/resistors that were plug and play.

The high beams are almost non existent, but the lowbeams are bright enough. Also thinking about adding a truck horn just for added safety and letting others know I am coming. LOL

Rear taillights being tinted make the car look better IMO. But the lighting is dim, so to compensate for this I am thinking of getting brighter LEDs for turn and break lights, which again I will have use the resistors on each side.....oh well.

Switchbacks I tried replacing the relay, took the entire front console apart and found that on 2012 it is part of the Turn Signal switch. UGH!!!! I hated taking it apart. Now this weekend I will use the resistors and splice the wires.

The wires on each sides are different color, drivers has a gree/dash, grey/dash, and black/dash, the passenger has red/grey/black. Freaking confusing and at the same time I need to cut the electrical tape to expose more of the wire. I guess this is the only way.

Please post pics if you have done these things as well.

I kinda like the original look better without the tint, but that's my opinion.

DRL led lights --- awesome. Tinted tail lights --- um, no thank you....

Aside from being illegal depending on where you live, even if it's not you risk the driver behind hitting you. I personally even find the all red lens lacking contrast between brake and turn signal....that is why I took the time and effort to source and replace mine with OEM clear tail lights that are specifically used for Pilots exported to Russia. Some might say they look like alteezas from ricers, but I really don't care because these are OEM sets. No issues with that.
