New owner with 2013 Touring.

Peeking through the grill, there's a full-width accessory cooler across the top front face of the radiator. Is that the HD trans cooler needed for towing? This is/was an AHM program car so the window sticker is pretty much blank when it comes to added accessories. The installed cooler is maybe 5-6" high, full width of the radiator shell. We seldom tow but live in the Los Angeles area where heat and traffic are normal curses on auto trans life. I'd like to have the extra trans cooling capacity.

I can probably post a picture if needed.

TIA!

Thanks for the link info. The Honda site suggests that the heavy-duty trans cooler for towing is not standard on my 2WD Touring. Pictures from other threads found with Search show earlier 2WD models (2012) with just a single finned loop PS fluid cooler from the passenger side top. The cooler package on my particular 2013 2WD Touring is substantial, leading me to ask if the HD trans cooler in the towing package looks like the one I described. The window sticker is no help, since it doesn't list any accessories installed by AHM for their original user. FWIW, the paint on the hitch receiver is still perfect, with no evidence that anything had ever been towed.

I'm just trying to avoid a trip to the local dealer to find out what cooler is there now.

i take my pilot 2012 4wd on sand dunes sometimes it gets tricky and getting stuck in the sand but can manage to get out but after that i see "a/t temp" light and after 10 mins of idling, its gone. so i assume its the tranny cooler being too hot. is there any "upgrade" to this? like changing the fluids etc?

if you go to hondaautomotiveparts.com and do a part search regarding the vehicles in question it will show a parts diagram. using that you'll be able to tell which part you have.

Thanks! Pictures/diagrams worth 1024 (1k) words. Looks like I don't have the ATF cooler. Just need to google best price for a #22...
