OK, new thread to plan next meet..

Being that Louisville seems to be the most central location, can any of you Louisville guys recommend a location?

Ideas for KY/IN Pilot meet location (and this post makes this thread more recent than the old one )
- food
- large parking lot to assemble Pilots
- Photo ops

How about one of Louisville Parks?

Or maybe a mall parking lot. There are usually plenty of spaces away from the stores.

Exclamation Meeting Place ????

I do not live in Louisville, but it is more conveninent for us from Indiana. I will do some research and try to come up with some suggestions for a place. Maybe the KY people will know of a place sooner. I really hope I can get my bumper fixed before the meet.\
See my post in detailing about Automatic Car Washes.
ps how do you get the thread link to put in messages????
thanks,
Bob

Default KY/IN/OH Meet

Okay Guys/Gals, let's make this happen. Havasu and I will be out of town the weekend of Nov. 2nd and 3rd. We are proposing Sunday 10/27, or Saturday, Sunday Nov. 9th and 10th. Any takers?

I'm game. Just say where and when. Earlier might be better color if we take pictures with trees in the background.

The easiest way is to copy it from the URL/address field of the browser, and paste in into your post.

Yes we picked Louisville because it seems a central location for Kentucky/Indiana/Cincy too.

Default Suggestions (revisited)...

Here (again) are some possible sites for getting together - click on the link for more info...

E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park

Louisville Zoo

Churchill Downs

Louisville City Parks

Louisville Waterfront Park

BlueGrass Bison Ranch

Please look at these sites for details - they all could provide suitable backgrounds for photos and all would ahave access to dining spots. The best place for kids activities might be the Bluegrass Bison Ranch in Shelbyville - our grandkids have been and enjoyed the place. You can also eat a "buffalo burger" there - just don't tell the kids where it came from! Let me know on this post what you think...

Smile Sunday ---Nice Day for a Drive !

I agree that Sunday would be a good day for a drive.
Some of us still work (I am in retail and work most Saturdays) or may have things to finish on Saturdays, so I vote for a Sunday outing-----Oct 27 or Nov 10
What is your vote?????????????????????

Sundays are usually better for me because we usually have soccer/basketball games on Saturdays.

The Bluegrass Bison Ranch sounds the most interesting and ripe with photo ops! I'd love to get pictures of Pilots in front of Churchill Downs but we'd better wait for the scaffolding to come down you say, huh?

OK a Sunday sounds best for most folks.
- Sunday Oct 27 or
- Sunday Nov 10 ?

Trees are still mostly green now... wondering which date is likely to give is more fall color. More Pilot participation is higher priority though!

Default Wildlife ALERT!!!

Quote:
The Kentucky State Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and golfers to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while in the Daniel Boone and Mammoth Cave areas.

They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as little bells on their clothing to alert, but not startle the bear unexpectedly.

They also advise carrying pepper spray in case of an encounter with a bear.

It is also a good idea to watch for bear activity and know the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings.

* Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly squirrel fur.

* Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.
