Question Rear sensors not sounding

I have had my 2011 pilot touring since Oct. 2010 and still have not heard any sounds from my back up sensors. I have been unsuccessful in finding out from anyone at the dealership as to whether or not they should be making an audible noise. Are the "sensors" just for the reverse camera? Does anyone else hear a noise when backing up? Please advise.

They do beep when in range and operating conditions met...
hate to ask the obvious but ....do the front parking sensors work?....and do you have the sensors switched off via the dash control on left side above the E-brake. Check you owner's manual for "Parking Sensor System" for more info.
