Look in the owners manual. There is info there about it.

I have a 2009 Pilot Touring and replaced the donut spare with a full size with no problem. Found one on Craigslist with a brand new tire for $100. Just make sure to check the pressure every once in a while so its ready to go in case of an emergency.

There was no spacer.

The OEM wheel and even my current aftermarket wheels fit right up, no problem, no mods.

I think he meant the spacer on mounting the spare. If you do not remove that spacer and attempt to mount the full size spare then it will stick out like a sore thumb.

Very true... see OM pages 505 & 512 ('09), pages 604 & 612 ('12). 2010 & 2011, 2013 should all be the same as 2012.

Well, I had my full size spare off for a couple weeks to have TMPS installed and mounted it with and without the mentioned spacer. It actually mounts fine with or without.

That said, there is a clear visual difference. With the spacer, the leading (front) edge of the tire is lower, but not below the sub frame where it could be hit by something. (Its seats at an angle, the back end raised.) With the space removed, the tire seats flat.
