I assume you are referring to the Goodyear Forteras? I have heard others with the same poor results. The touring came with Michelin LTX MS and it is an awesome tire. I got 85,000 miles on my first set. They handle great, have low noise, are good in rain, and you will love how they perform in your Minnesota winters. Of course they are expensive, but IMO worth every penny.

I swapped out mine on my 2010 EX-L at around 22k for a set of Touring wheels and the OEM Michelins. Couldn't be happier with them. |

I must be lucky. I was able to get 51K off my factory Goodyear's. That being said, the last 10K were extremely noisy. I replaced them about a month ago with a set of Michelin Latitude Touring. I am very pleased with them. They are great in the rain and snow. I've had a set on the wife's CRV for the last 16 months with no complaints.

Most OE tires are bad especailly for tread wear, despite being marketed under the same name. If you look at the following link you will notice the 2011 Goodyear OE tires only start with 10/32" tread depth instead of the normal 11/32" for that model.
Goodyear*Fortera HL Edition My factory Fortera HL have worn down to 3/32" after 40k miles. Michelin Laitutde Tour in 245/65R17 is a great option for the 2011 with great braking and tread wear score from Consumer Reports. |
