Default 2010 Key Fob problems

Anyone know why both my key fobs will not work unless I am right next to the Pilot? I changed the batteries, but still not effective. Suggestions?

You already tried the first thing I would have; replace the batteries.

Does this problem happen everytime or just in certain locations? There might be some type of radio wave interference jamming thus decreasing the key fob signal. Are you near a radio/tv transmitting tower?

I know this will sound weird but try touching the key fob to your chin when you hit the open or close buttons. It actually increases the range of the transmitter. It really works!

When you press the buttons on the remote, does the little red light come on?

Every few months or so, my remote will start to fail intermittently. I've noticed that when I press the buttons on the remote, the light does not light up. I then take the remote apart, bend the little prongs inside the remote so that it makes better contact with the battery. After that, it works like a champ!

I have had that problem for a long time and I have changed battery, tinkered with prongs, cleaned the circuit board and the contacts (properly).
I did purchase additional warranty and I plan to take the pilot in for checking.
