We traded a 2011 Kia Sorento SX for a 2011 Pilot EX-L yesterday. We had traded for the Kia with an '09 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited (great car). We lost a few features from the Kia like blinking turn signals on side mirrors, full NAV, and 27 MPG on trips, but the extra space, having a nicer vechicle, and just owning the Pilot makes the few lost features totally OK. The Pilot we got is silver, gray leather, and has 9,350 miles. We don't live where there is snow (southeastern NC near Myrtle Beach, SC) so when it's time for tires, I'll be asking more. Glad to find this forum.

Congrats Dan and welcome. You will miss the 27 MPG more than anything else.
Just curious as to how much they were asking for the Pilot and what kind of deal you finally made, if you care to share the details. If not, that is fine. Again, congrats.

I went there telling them they must work with their asking price of $33,900 or the value of my Kia so that I paid no more than the $6914 difference offered by a dealer 3 hrs. away with a similar mileage 2011 EX-L that had given me some phone prices, so I knew I could trade by driving there (plus my cousin looked at the car for me). Also the doc fee at the other dealer was going to be $200 higher than here. The doc fee at the other dealer was $200 higher than the one here. They did it for 6,914 plus doc, title, taxes (in NC it's 3% of the difference on the trade), and license. Not to mention, the whole shopping experience at the dealer here where the car was on the lot, was incredible. The Kia had just over 16,200 miles. Their bill of sale showed $34,900 reduced to $33,900 which was the price on their website, and they overvalued my car (based on some book #'s) to get to the $6,914. The EX-L at the dealer 3 hours away was priced at $30,414 and they valued my car at 23,500 to reach the 6914. Probably more than you asked for but it's always fasicnating to see how they work the numbers. Last May we paid about $400 more for the Kia than allowed on my trade by the time they gave me various discounts off sticker price of Kia when we bought it.
