I'm a relatively new '09 Touring owner.... I've done some internet searches looking for info about the Factory (stock?) alarm (press keyfob twice) but mostly come up empty.
a) Does it have glass breakage sensor? b) Does it have impact sensors? (OK, this one I could probably test!) c) Does it have Tilt/Tow Sensors? If not, for each one, can someone provide some advice, info, and/or links to '09 Touring alarm upgrades that I could add. Preferrably DIY and utilizing the existing keyfobs and factory alarm.......... Is that reasonable? |

I have a 2011 which I upgraded the alarm. Overall, teh Pilot's factory alarm is not bad at all, but it does lack the shock/glass breakage sensor and tilt sensor. I wanted the shock sensor so I went ahead and got the after market alarm that uses the existing key fob. Funny thing is that during purchasing my wife's 2011 Accord, the dealership was asking $800 for an alarm upgrade, which we talked him down to $400. The finance guy was telling us folks need the aftermarket alarm since car burglars go around kicking tires to see if they have a shock sensor and he had the whole example setup against his office wall for demostration. Anyhow, I got mine at the local tint shop and the owner mentioned they were the installers at the local Honda dealership for alarms and tints and would give me a break by charging what he charges the dealership for alarms. It was the same exact alarm as what we purchased for the Accord and it was only $130 installed. It was an Omega AL-100DP which allows them to use the existing key fob. It does not have all the bells and whistles like high priced alarms, but I got the shock sensor and a very bright blue LED light that can be easily seen at night. Another great thing is that it chirps on the first press to indicate the doors are lock rather getting the silence when first presing the fob with the factory alarm. As far as I can tell, the installer rigged so that it still uses some functions of the factory alarm such as the starter disable.

Oh yeah. thanks. It sounds like Omega AL-100DP does exactly what I want.
The on-line price for the kit is pretty reasonable - - but I'd gladly pay an installer if I find the deal you got! I'll start asking around. The AL-100DP would pay for itself to avoid smash&grabs... |

If you buy it on your own, make sure you also get the siren horn as you'll need this for the warning chirp for the shock sensor. Someone kicks the tires, the alarm gives off four consecutive warning 4 chirps.

I found it here real cheap. I wonder if the unit is plug and play.
