Question 2009 2010 what year is better

Planning on buying a pilot in the next few months. Have Honda Ridgline and love it! But wanting to trade in the Civic on a pilot. Would a 2009 or 2010 Pilot be better choice. Im just wondering what year was built better? Thanks for your Help

i thought the first yr would have the most issues? although i must admit i have a 2009 pilot w/ no issues.

Hmm very interesting comment and counter-intuitive to what consumer groups are often saying, which is to avoid 1st model year vehicles to allow bugs to flush out of the system.

We just bought an '09 ourselves and have to say we're very pleased with it so far after about 3 weeks of ownership.

Biggest thing I'm working on now is finding a REASONABLY priced Nav update from 4.73 to 4.2A.

$149 is Bee-Ess.

My research on the interwebs has led me to find that peep w/ 2008 and lower honda vehicle have a path to *ahem* zero cost update for their Nav, but 09 and newer do not have the same *ahem* zero cost solution option available to them....but I digress.

Guess I'm glad we got an '09 based on your comment for build quality.

Bigdaddy,

Are you now saying that it's advisable to buy '09 instead of 2010 model because i intend buying either of this model bust it will definitely be touring because that's my choice.

If it's going to be 2009 could be the one that was manufacture btw July to Dec 2008 or from January to July 09?

Pls give more advice on this.

Friends in Forums pls contribute to this discussion.

Thanks.
'Fred

I just bought a 2009 Honda Pilot EX and it's been a positive experience thus far. I was originally looking at the CRV and once I test drove the Pilot it was a no brainer for me.

Interesting. So what parts did you actually see them degrade to 'cheaper' parts after the first model year? Many companies have alternate suppliers but the parts still have to meet stringent quality specs. I am not buying this until I see specific examples.
