We purchased a 2011 4X4 Pilot about 3 months ago and I noticed after taking a trip and getting out that there is a burning smell in the rear. Almost smells like a burning rubber smell. Initially I blew it off thinking it was new and was just not broke in. I still smell this after 2200 miles. Anyone else had any issues with an odor occuring at the rear of the vehicle when finishing a trip? I'm starting to get a little worried.

Usually it is gone after the first week or so.
Did the dealer use any type of undercoating or rustproofing product on your car?

I don't have an answer, but I too notice an unusual burnt smell in my 2011 4x4. I only really notice it when I open the tool/jack compartment.

We've noticed the same in our 2011 EX-L. The burning rubber smell is strongest near the rear driver's side wheel well. We've got 16K on the clock and it doesn't seem to be going away. No special undercoatings, either...
