Default Why does my go rhino hitch step "wiggle" so much

Just installed on my 2012 exl. Pretty straight forward install and I did install the anti rattle clip underneath. Is it suppose to wiggle a little side to side? I'm new to hitch steps so I do not know if this is normal or not.

Thanks

A 2 inch step-mount and/or a 2 inch ball mount into a 2 inch receiver will have some normal "play". So will the others...1 1/4 and 2 1/2 inch varieties.

Same on my 2011. I put some black Gorilla brand tape around the end of the shaft and start of the shaft to eliminate it. I've had it like this for about 1 1/2 years and I don't see any deterioration of the tape so far. It still just slightly wiggles but more importantly it no longer makes thumping noises is it makes contact with the receiver.
