Default 2012 Touring stereo sounding good?

So what do you guys think of the new 650 watt system, sound good? Does it offer a 6 disc CD changer or is it just now one since you can rip to the hard drive? And how do songs sound after they are ripped, is the ripped quality good?

I'm figuring it's gotta be sounding better than my 2007 nav's system.

Overall, I think it's pretty good. Nice bass and good highs. It does not have a CD changer, presumably because of the HDD. The ripped quality is good, I'd say ~CD quality, though I'm not sure what the bit rate is.

^^^I agree...it's a very nice factory system. I have no complaints with it whatsoever.

I agree. The sound system sounds fantastic to me! The hdd system is great too. I've uploaded two cd's to the system and can't tell the difference, so I'm happy with it!

Awesome to hear guys! Thanks for the replies!

Have to say I'm psyched to get my Touring! It's adding everything I felt my 07 nav was missing....Better stereo system, bluetooth phone, streaming, the hard drive and being able to see what's playing with the band and song names......usb port....traffic service...etc!

Sound is great. I love the system -- so many choices, I'm never tired. And with the HDD, my kids' favorite sing-alongs are always there. Very nice to push the HDD button and have some tunes at the ready.

For music from my iPod, the album art in the display is cute, but it's so small, it's not all that functional.

The sound system in the 2012 Touring is pretty sweet. With all the options for playing music, no need for 6 disc changer. The one thing that is a little frustrating is when you're listening to XM and you want to check out other XM stations in a list, the list always starts at 001. It'd be nice if the list started at the station you're currently on. I think once I get to know the channel line up a little better, this won't matter to me.

Ripped music sounds great. I do wish you could just download music from the USB to the HDD. THAT would be so much better. No need to dig the CD's out of storage. Maybe someone will provide a hack for this at some point.

Streaming Pandora on the iPhone via USB is nice too. You can even change songs via the steering wheel ch. up button.

I've had my 2012 4WD Touring for a week now and I'm a little bit disappointed with the sound system. I agree with everybody here that it does sound good, except the subwoofer leaves a lot to be desired. I've had mine on the highest level and still can't get the thump that I want. I'm not speaking of rattling the whole neighborhood kind of bass, but just something half-way decent, which this one is not. Mind you, when playing a DVD, it does provide the right amount of bass, but not when playing music. I've asked from another thread if anybody knows what is the rating of the subwoofer installed. I have a feeling that it's simply under powered since the 650-watt (supposedly) amp is supplying all ten speakers. If I can get the rating, then I can decide whether to add just a dedicated amp for the sub or totally replace the sub and add it's own amp.

I didn't expect too much from the sub.
Therefore I'm really happy with the sound system on my Touring.
By just looking at the specs, and physically looking at it, I know it won't give the base that will break windows, wine glasses, and eggs.

I value my hearing, so I'm not really into those stuff. I hate it when a car next to me plays music too loud that I feel my lungs will burst.

I am VERY disappointed in the sound intensity of the 2012 touring 650 watt system. No Bass Honda! So, much that I tried replacing the Sub and front door speakers with JL Audio. The door speakers helped give it better highs, but I wouldn't waste your money on the 8" sub. It helped a little bit, but I ended up putting a rockford fosgate 500 watt mono amp in the rear trunk area and powered the sub. Still helped, but ended up buying JL Audio CS212RG-W3v3-2 sealed box (which fits behind the rear seating). Wow did that help! I ended up leaving the sub with the factory amp, and just powering the box with the Fosgate. I think you could shatter the windows!

But this lead to other noise problems. The ANC is now causing issues. You get feedback from the noise cancellation system. The symptom is a humm when you put on the brake and turns off if you open a door or accelerate the vehicle. The only fix I found was to unplug the noise cancellation microphones located in the rear ceiling (near the light) and the mic in the front roof (near the light). Unfortunently, the connector also unplugs your bluetooth phone mic. I am taking it back to the dealer to report the issue and to cut the noise cancellation mic wires only.

Are you amping the door speakers? Have you tried running everything off of the factory amp? Does that fix the noise issue? I'm looking to improve on the sound quality in my EX-L but I don't want to lose ANC.
