Hey guys, I'm wanting to get the fenderwell trim for our '12 Touring, but it's priced about $100 bones more than the '11 trim. I did a side-by-side comparison of the 2 Installation Instructions (P/N's 08P21-SZA-100 and 08P21-SZA-100A respectively), and they have the exact same parts and 'almost' identical install steps. The only difference that I can tell is around step #5 which specifies a different placement of the tape (or maybe the tape is a different cut).
Has anyone bought and installed the '12 fenderwell trim themselves? If so, did you look into getting the '11 trim? It seems like it would work fine, maybe need to tweak a few steps. $100 more for the same parts is bogus! |

I called Bernardi Parts, and the guy I spoke to said that there is a fitment difference for the fenderwell trim between the 2 models. Apparently, it's enough to justify a $100 increase in price

I saw the trim on the dealers 2012 touring they had, it was pretty cool. It's one thing I want to add to mine when I get it, but dam it is pretty expensive for a few pieces of plastic. I mean retail each one is 125 bucks, seems excessive for what it is. I've seen them online for better, where do you all buy accessories?

IMO, it's a must-have accessory, but you're right, it's crazy expensive. Not only does it provide a nice highlight of the fenders, it really protects the thin metal on those fender edges.
I really wanted to try the '11 trim and see if I could get it to work, but I went ahead and purchased the '12 from Honda and Acura Accessories dot com - Genuine Factory Honda and Acura Accessories at discount prices. as I didn't want to take the risk. H and A Accessories is where I usually purchase all of my Honda accessories. After S&H, it's about the same as Bernardi Honda Parts. |

The 12 trim is more aero-dynamic than the 11 and with less wind resistance, better milage. ;-)
