Default 2012 valve stem caps

I just took delivery of my Pilot on Tuesday and was looking at my valve stem caps. Mine are a lime green color and look as though they are some sort of temporary cap. Every other new Pilot I have seen has black ones with a little tip at the top of the cap. Does anyone else with a 2012 have the green caps?

I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to have them install the roof rails, align the front end because it has been pulling to the right since I got it, and look for a rattle in the dash, so I was wondering if I should ask the service dept about these caps as well.

Surprised they didn't try to sell you on the nitrogen service plan...They likely filled up your tires with Nitrogen and are advertising the fact.

Yeah, green usually means nitrogen. Don't let them charge you for it. If they use it standard, great. Folks will make exaggerated claims about the benefits.

If it was me, I would have not taken delivery. It's pulling to the right and have a rattle in the dash. That would have annoyed me and immediately returned it. You didn't notice the pull when you test drove it? Good luck.

I agree with jeproks, I would have driven right back on the pulling to the right alone.
But yes green caps mean nitrogen filled and it's not worth your money if your tires go low, stick to normal air.

Btw someone will steal those green caps off your car in a heartbeat, just warning you. Get normal black boring ones. ... I had blue ones on my car when I bought my car (don't know why it was blue) and 3/4 were stolen within 2 weeks. The normal black ones I threw on don't get touched.

Yep, mine came with the green caps too. Seems that nitrogen filled tires is the new undercoating protection. I was waiting for the high pressure sale to maintain my flux capacitor as well...

The vehicle I test drove was not the one I bought. They didn't have the color I wanted, so they had to go to another dealer to get one. I never thought to test drive it when I picked it up. I've had dealers get me the color I wanted before from another dealer and never had this issue. Guess I'll drive it before I finish the paperwork in the future.

Anyway, went to the dealer today to have the roof rails installed (got them to throw it in when I made the deal) and the mechanic found it to be slightly out of alignment, so they realigned it and all is good. The Service Writer didn't know why it had green caps, so he got black ones for me. As for the rattle, I have to take it back in a few days so they can chase it down.

A tire dealer friend of mine told me that new cars almost always are out of alignment.
