Hi,
I got a Honda Pilot Touring 2011. I need to know if I can enter a destination by saying a street or city name instead of typing or saying specific letters. Whenever I try to enter a destination, I am always asked to enter a destination by spell mode. I am not sure if the option of just saying a complete street or city name is available on factory installed GPS. Any help would be great. Thanks. |

There should have been a small book that came with your Pilot that describes how to use the voice command in it. I'm not sure if you can tell it to find a street, but if you can it will be in that book.

Yea, I went through the navigation manual and it does not tell if this feature is available or not. So I guess you cant just say a street or city name. Funny I have seen a youtube video where the guy is doing the exact same thing and its working.

start at page 23 Navi Manual---Entering destination...By Voice control... rather than "spell" mode.

Yea, I have gone through the manual. My point is whenever I want to enter a city or street by voice, the nuvi tells me to speak out individual letters life A,B,C. I want to know if I can enter a destination by saying the complete name instead of the individual aplhabets.
Like if I want to go to Iowa, Can I say "Iowa" or do I have to say individual letters? That is what I am not able to find out. The manual doesnt say anything about it but I have seen a youtube video where guy is calling out the complete name and its working. |

Quote:
FIRST select the state via the dial or spell input...then.. Say “City” on the Find address by screen, and the display changes to the Say city name screen. Say the city name and the searching will begin.

Yea, I live in Canada, so I changed the province using the dial and then said "City" and still ended up on the spell mode page. I do not know if 2011 Touring has this option or not.
