Default 2012 Pilot Purchase

Hi All,

I just purchased a 2012 Pilot EX-L that is silver with the gray interior. I am very impressed with this car!

I bought this car to replace a 2011 F-150 Lariat that I bought a few months ago and absolutely hated! That truck spent more time in the shop than I care to think about. After fighting through one issue after another, I finally decided to get rid of it. Needless to say, I will never own another Ford product again. Lucky for me, I only lost a little bit of money by trading it in and getting my Pilot.

After spending several months driving my girlfriend's 2011 Pilot, I decided the Pilot was the vehicle for me. I am very happy with this vehicle and look forward to many years of good service from it. I love the functionality of it and the color scheme is absolutely beauitful!

I'm one excited and happy Pilot owner!

Congratulations and welcome to the family. I hope you and your girlfriend don't decide to enter Ride of the Month at the same time; that could spell trouble. ;-) Post often!

Congrats brother! I also came from an F-150 (2010 F-150 Lariat). I liked the truck, but the flaky 6-speed tranny ruined the entire driving experience for me.

Hey, are you feeling your VCM/ECO when it engages?

Thanks all! My transmission on the F-150 gave me issues too. It had a shudder from day one. I don't miss the truck at all.

I have not been able to feel when the VCO/ECM engages. I think my car seems to ride a little better with these new Michelin tires than my girlfriend's does with the Goodyear tires.

I recently purchased a 2012 EX-L w. NAV. I notice the VCM shudder but only when I'm feathering the accelerator. If I'm aggressive on the gas, it's inperceptible. When I do notice it, it's similar to the feeling when the AC compressor turns on. But I'm sure that's not it because I've driven with the AC off and still notice it. I don't think it's an issue though.

Ditto my 2012 touring awd. A trace of shudder when feathering the throttle in heavy traffic. Not a big deal, but noticeable.

+1... That's exactly what mine does, so I won't worry about it. I've probably been babying this car too much.

Sorry for the thread drift COASTIE!

I used to have an F-150 too. Although it was the '98 model with the 4R70W tranny. It was an OK vehicle until the tranny went out at 98K. After hearing about the issues with the new 6-spd on the new F-150's, I'm glad I decided on a proven powertrain: Honda's Pilot with the J35Z4 engine & 5-sped tranny.

we also came from an f-150, 2006 FX4 here. Loved the truck, but hated the time (and money!!) we spent filling her up. Aside from that, limited issues with her up to 90k. That said, I am loving my Pilot (2012 EX-L RES) much much more!
