Default where is the compass on the 2012 touring?

I recently traded in my 2011 touring for a 2012 touring. there is no compass on my 2012, even though it states on the window sticker and on the specs on the Honda Pilot website. on my 2011 the compass that showed, N,S,E and West was displayed in the multi information display (MID) where u see the miledge.

the owners manunal mentions the compass location only for EXL models located on the big screen on top of radio controls on models with no navi. but doesnt mention at all where the compass is on a touring model. the only thing close to it is that little arrow that says N on the navigation screen. but it does not state south, east, or west, . i know i can probably figure it out, but will take me an extra few seconds. but if they had it on the 2011 why did they take it out?

anybody can help? i called Honda Customer service, and they really werent a help. they said then they must of left it out on the 2012 model. then why would u state u had it on the specs?

I was also curious about this myself, so I read through the Navi and Owner's manuals yesterday. It doesn't look like there is an actual digital compass option.

Instead, there are two map orientation modes: "North Up" or "Heading Up". Depending on your map orientation selection, you have to spend the extra 1 second of thought and figure out which direction you're going in, relative to North in the "North Up" position or the red arrow in the "Heading Up" position (which always points to North)

Would be nice if Honda could just tell us which direction, eh?!

Ughh! I bought my 2012 Touring last week and also have not been able to find the compass. Kinda frustrating, as I enjoy knowing which direction I am heading without having to search for the tiny "N" in the navi map.

Apparently, it's a feature to remove it from the MID if you went ahead and purchased the Nav or have a Touring model. I love the Nav but still miss the compass in the dash. Silly to even do that.

Isn't it a bit redundant? I mean you have a fancy pants Nav system, does one really need a compass too?
