I set up my 2012 pilot to stream audio from by Droid phone. It works fine, even displays the name of song on the headunit, but there is a noticible delay between the phone and sound. If I hit the "next" button to go to the next song, there is a 5 second delay between when I hit the button and the sound changes. The headunit updates, and the phone shows the new song, but it's not coming out of the speakers. It sounds like the stereo is buffereing 2-3 seconds of music or something. Has anyone else had this issue with Bluetooth Audio?

Bluetooth data transmission rates are pretty slow according to a techy friend of mine. However rates are improving. Much will depend on which BT version you have. Sounds like Iphone may be quicker

I'm wondering if I go back to true A2DP streaming (which does not provide the meta data for the head unit) would it be faster.
The bluetooth speed shouldn't be an issue, it's slow, but for mp3 streaming it is more than enough. i think it's internal to the Pilot because I can stream it at home with no delay. |
