Hello all, well like the title says i'm new to the honda world. Didn't go to the dealership with Honda in mind. We.were actually looking at the durango, buying have three kids who need space and the durango was no bigger than the journey. We saw a black pilot and liked it then we saw a fully loaded 2011 pilot touring and fell in love. The only thing that sucks is that I'm military so my bases vary and unfortunately 4x4 is not found in Texas unless you special order it. But it will do. Going to look through the.posts and get an idea of what issues surround the vehicle, but no matter what my decision will not be changed on why i like it.

Congrats. Honda allocates far less 4x4s in the southern states - I would be suprised if there were available leftover 2011 MY 4x4's. The only big issue has been excessive oil usage. Check your oil level often before the first oil change.

It really is a great vehicle. I bought mine for my wife after her Subaru started acting up and my old dodge took a huge poop on me. Especially if you have a family you simply can't go wrong. I've got two little ones plus a grandma who (thankfully) spends a lot of time with us helping out. I'm particular (peculiar?) in many ways, but car "styling" is not one of them so I don't mind the boxy look of the Pilot, which is about the only bad press it gets. It offers a ton of utility in exchange. And not to contradict my last statement, but I love the way it looks.
Of course, I love Blazers, Broncos and Scouts so you can see where I get it.I live in NV and bought my 2011 4wd LX in Arizona. Turns out the AZ dealership swapped for it with a dealer in Colorado which makes sense. There's not much call for 4wd in places where it only rains 10 days a year or so. Try truecar.com. They got me hooked up with the dealer who saved me about $1400 over local. I drove my 2010 Subaru 800 miles home (saved 3k on that one), and I drove my Honda 300 miles home. So don't hesitate to look out of your area or out of your state. And, don't hesitate to order. I always expect a better deal on an ordered vehicle anyway since they're not paying to keep a vehicle in inventory. Anyway, greetings and good luck. Let us know how it goes.
