Default soon to be owner

Hello all!

Hopefully a soon to be owner here.

Been a member of numerous forums and this one by far appears to be most civil and respectful (no flame wars that I saw).

Had been looking for a CPO's 2006-2008 (side air bags + nicer front end) - but can not believe they are still asking approx $20k here in NorCal!

As such - been pricing out a 2012 LX 2wd and working to get it $500 below invoice. (This car will be for the kids to beat up, so no need for frills).

On side note - my '05 bmw 545i has depreciated to a ridiculous figure, by over 70% in the 3 years that I have owned it!

Chronicles of my negotiation to come, but just wanted to say hi to all and thanks for the volume of info..

When we bought our 2008 a year ago is was $28,000. We did manage to get it for $22,000 though. It was one day away from going to auction.

Hello Friends -

Update for anyone that may be interested.

Firstly - I'll likely never buy another BMW - depreciation is horrendus. After being offered $12K for a '05 545i at a couple places, finally found dealership willing to go to $15K. (Retail on that car maybe $18K'ish - but i have a few dings, tires need replacing, and 'ease' of not dealing with craigslist)

Close to getting $750 under invoice on 2012 LX 2wd in Polished Metal Metallic. Finance for 0.9%

Overall - don't think I'm getting one over on the dealer, but don't think I'm getting bent over either.

Welcome any feedback you all have and looking forward to upgrading (someone put ZDX wheels on the truck and looks awesome!)
