Default Discolored Aluminum on OEM Premium Running Boards

Has anyone had an issue with the aluminum discoloring on the OEM Premium Running Boards?

I have a '09 Pilot I purchased in Jan '09 and later installed the running boards a few months later. I purchased them from the local Honda Dealership but installed them myself. I am still under 36k miles and under 3 years of ownership so I am guessing they are covered under warranty

(I'll get some pics up later this afternoon when the wife returns from her Sunday shopping )

Accessory warranty is one year. Your problem looks like runoff in my opinion. Aluminum is hard to corrode. What have you tried to wash/polish the metal. Is it clear coated or painted?
sorry, though, to answer your specific question I have not experienced this.

I haven't tried to polish them but did try a few misc soaps but of course nothing worked. I am now thinking this is a result of the auto/touchless carwash my wife frequently goes thru.

Have you tried WD-40?

Some stuff worth trying that you probably already have at home-Windex, scrubbing bubbles cleaner.
If that fails go down to your local parts store, and get a degreaser, eg black magic. gunk

You might want to try a little vinegar. It is purported to work on water stains on aluminum. Test a spot first, as with any of these suggestions.
