Has anyone had an issue with the aluminum discoloring on the OEM Premium Running Boards?
I have a '09 Pilot I purchased in Jan '09 and later installed the running boards a few months later. I purchased them from the local Honda Dealership but installed them myself. I am still under 36k miles and under 3 years of ownership so I am guessing they are covered under warranty ![]() (I'll get some pics up later this afternoon when the wife returns from her Sunday shopping )

Looks like some type of trickle down stain/deglosser......mine are older than yours and have been through 3 years of winter salt, spray de-icer, road oil removal and all kinds of car wash solutions and have no marks like that...

Accessory warranty is one year. Your problem looks like runoff in my opinion. Aluminum is hard to corrode. What have you tried to wash/polish the metal. Is it clear coated or painted?
sorry, though, to answer your specific question I have not experienced this.

I haven't tried to polish them but did try a few misc soaps but of course nothing worked. I am now thinking this is a result of the auto/touchless carwash my wife frequently goes thru. |

Some stuff worth trying that you probably already have at home-Windex, scrubbing bubbles cleaner.
If that fails go down to your local parts store, and get a degreaser, eg black magic. gunk

You might want to try a little vinegar. It is purported to work on water stains on aluminum. Test a spot first, as with any of these suggestions.
